I still don’t have the words to express my joy from this night. I made 2 videos from this moment, but this one hits. I will likely share the other one later.

In the simplest words, Peter nailed it. I never would have thought that my proposal would happen like this, on a live stage in front of thousands of strangers.

But it wasn’t the thousands of unknown people screaming and cheering for our love that made it so special(although that was completely surreal)… my parents were in the audience. My sister and her kids, my best friend, and many many close friends 😭😍

Peter and I inspired love that night✨💖✨ People came up to us the day after at coffee shops and on the streets of Dillon sharing how inspired they were but what they saw on stage.

Thank you to my friends @elephantrevival for creating space for such an extraordinary moment in time. I couldn’t have imagined this moment any other way. It was honestly, just perfect. We nailed our act, and after @fiddlinbridget called me out and threw my ring across the stage(thank god Peter caught it), and then he proposed. I’m still just 🫠

Thank you to my best friend @saoirse.song for being there with me.

Thank you to @bloomurianmusic and @jimi for pulling our act and supporting us.

& of course, thank you to my family for driving 8 hrs to see this. (They didn’t even know about the proposal).

THE PORTAL🌀

The artists and builders behind @theportal.iceland arrived weeks before the festival began to turn ideas into installations, gathering spaces, and interactive experiences across the grounds.

Here’s a closer look at what they created for Iceland Eclipse and the people who brought it to life.

The entrance to the Ceremony Garden, framed by this incredible wooden structure by artist @madeline.fountain

Ocean Bones: Wondering Forest is a site-responsive installation created from materials encountered along the coastline of Snæfellsnes; kelp, ghost nets, fishing floats, long line rope and other objects shaped by use, weather, ocean and time.

A closer look at the branches, woven pieces, and natural materials suspended between the wooden beams.

LUCIDROMIA: A sculptural installation by @kirstberg

An exploration of light, reflection, and the relationship between the individual and the collective.

Concave: many rays gathered inward to one place, individual light finding its way to a shared center.

Convex: the whole sun concentrated into one point of light, even as it simultaneously spreads outward. A collective held in a single frame.

Once a receiver of transmission, now a surface of paradox: gathering and radiating light in a simultaneous, looping circuit.

THE PIER ⚓

Built entirely from recycled and reclaimed materials, created as an ode to the beauty and history of Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula

A place for people to connect, meet, and relax by @made.ya.nook

The team spent a month in Iceland knocking on doors, sourcing materials, building, and collaborating with locals to create a space that reflected the stories of the region.

The team also collaborated with space poet @drsianproctor on three hidden doors, each telling a story of The Portal and their collective time in Iceland.

Bryndís shared stories of Iceland’s elves and Hidden People, bringing local folklore and another layer of meaning into the project.

Your presence is your purpose.
🔻 Your divine erotic innocence can never be taken from you. It is your birthright, your power, the current that creates life itself.

And when the sacred masculine within us awakens, the part that holds, protects, and creates safety, it creates a container where that life force can move freely through the body. Where we can explore, reclaim, and express ourselves without abandoning ourselves.

This is what I experienced with @liquidbloom at Unison.

Amani held the soundscape as Shiva: steady, spacious, grounded. Within that container, the feminine in me could fully animate, express, and open into healing.

It felt like a sacred marriage. The masculine and feminine in right relationship, each honoring what the other holds.

I was fully present.
Fully in my body.
Fully in my power.

And my presence became the transmission.

This is what I believe is possible when we begin restoring this relationship within ourselves and with one another: masculine and feminine not competing or collapsing into each other, but meeting in reverence.

So much healing happened in that temple that night, through everyone who entered it.

The temples we enter matter.

What we show up for matters.

What we give our presence to matters.

I am here as a permission slip: to remind you that aliveness is your birthright. That you can feel safe, powerful, expressed, and at home in your body, your pleasure belonging first and foremost to you.

This past August, I was invited to cover the total solar eclipse from the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland—a land with which I have had a bond since 2008 and that I once called home for 14 months.

I was fortunate to experience the two minutes and seven seconds of totality from the observation spot reserved for astronauts. There, I reflected on how eclipses can offer us a glimpse of something similar to the ‘overview effect’—the profound shift in consciousness astronauts experience when viewing our planet from space.

During totality, Snæfellsjökull glacier emerged above the clouds in a movement that seemed choreographed. I believe the glacier also carried a less poetic message: though we take its presence for granted, one day it may no longer be part of this landscape.

For eight nights, I camped on the slopes of Snæfellsjökull, surrounded by its wisdom and a landscape that Jules Verne imagined as the entrance to the depths of the Earth on his “Journey to the Centre of the Earth”.

@icelandeclipse brought together astronauts, renowned artists, and storytellers rooted in local folklore. With them, I also reflected on the meaning of this phenomenon beyond the astronomical event itself.

And there was so much more: private concerts inside lava tunnels, stratospheric balloons equipped with custom-made 360-degree cameras, northern lights, conversations beneath telescopes, journeys to the glacier with the locals, and a crew of 46 photographers and videographers who, during those days, became family.

I have written about all of this in a feature for National Geographic, now published under the title “What Begins When an Eclipse Ends?”, a question that looks both inward and outward, as we all did during those days.

My thanks to the 21 people I interviewed to shape this story, for sharing their time and knowledge with me.
