So here's the deal. I SUCK at names. Really. I'm terrible. My stories are littered with random instances of (name), (boss), (victim 1), (best friend) and other such identifiers to hold a place until I can figure out a name. A while back I put out a plea for help. Thankfully, this lovely community showed up! If you suggested a name for characters in my book, THANK YOU! I got such joy from reading through the suggestions and picking names that were recommended by readers. Today, I'd like to shoutout the lovely people who helped name characters in The Present We Risk. @luna.schadeck - thank you for suggesting Liam and Kody (Cody)! @tdragon.hoards.books - your suggestion of Braden was awesome but I'd used up my first names! So I played with it and it sparked the last name Brady! @inkandbecoming - Sam became Samuelson! @briannajadesimagination - thank you for suggesting Ian! @the_bookish_bae - I used two of your suggestions, D.J. and Patrick! @retreatintobooks - thanks for suggesting Steve! Using names suggested by people I have met along this publishing path was such a fun way to connect. I'll definitely be doing it again! What role did each of these characters end up with?! Buddy Read We’ve (@liz_fully_booked and @the_bookishbae) just finished a buddy read of Dan Hardez’s Eternal Dominion, and we both say two thumbs up! See slides for our reviews. There’s something just so satisfying about reading a set of pages and then discussing with your book buddy and seeing what they think. And when it’s a book as good as this one, you get comments like “I’m really enjoying this book!” and “I wish we could make this book go viral. It’s so good!” If you like epic fantasy, dinosaurs, palace politics, evil kings, mer people, magical items, (need we go on?) this is the book for you. Highly recommended by both of us!
