This was honestly one of the most challenging filming days I’ve had in a long time — and I loved every minute of it.

I’m an aerial cinematographer turned filmmaker, producer, camera operator… and whatever other hat needs to be worn that day! 😂 But one thing I had NEVER done before was shoot a full fight scene.

I know my camera. I know the settings. I know how I want something to look cinematically. But filming fight choreography is a completely different world — camera placement, timing, movement, selling the hits, following the action and figuring out what angles actually make a fight FEEL real.

A lot of today was learning on the fly.

Whats great is that both @beevanish and Yuri got behind my goto camera. The DJI Ronin4d 8k cinemacamera. I love everyone checking this camera out

I was honored to have @yuri_marmerstein come out to @aerophlixstudios to film a promo for his Fighting for Film Masterclass coming September 26th.

If you don't know Yuri, do the research. His background goes way beyond simply knowing how to fight. He’s a professional stunt performer, stunt coordinator, fight choreographer, acrobat and instructor who understands how action needs to be designed specifically for the CAMERA.

Watching him work with stunt actors and actresses, breaking down movements and refining the smallest details so everything translated correctly on film, taught me a TON.

And the coolest part was having so many talented creatives there at the same time.

We were all filming the same action but capturing it in our own styles while these performers were refining their skills and learning how to fight for film.

Days like this are exactly why I love filmmaking. You can know your camera inside and out and still walk onto a set and realize there’s an entirely new world to learn.

I walked away from this shoot a better filmmaker than when I walked in.

And we're just getting started.

WE’RE BRINGING HOLLYWOOD TO MARION!

Spent the day at @aerophlixstudios with professional fight choreographer and stunt performer @yuri_marmerstein , shooting some absolutely EPIC fight scenes!
This was my first time filming any fight scenes, and as you probably can guess, I love recording everything in slow motion! As long as the video doesn't loose quality in slow motion, I will always use that as my baseline! (Exception is interviews always 24 fps) fir this I just clipped from videis but haven't actually edited them yet!

This wasn’t just about throwing punches for the camera. We worked on choreography, timing, reactions, camera movement, angles, and how to make every hit FEEL like it belongs on the big screen.

This is exactly what we want Aerophlix Studios to become—a place where actors, filmmakers, stunt performers, cinematographers, and creators can come together, train, experiment, and MAKE MOVIES.

We have the cameras.
We have the sets.
We have the space.
We’re bringing in the talent.

Now it’s time to CREATE. 🎥🔥

If you've ever wanted to be part of a movie, learn fight choreography, get behind the camera, or just get involved in filmmaking—HIT ME UP.

Hollywood is coming to Marion, Ohio. 🎬

There are a lot of really great memories with my dad, but one of them is trying to beat the arcade mini games in Donkey Kong 64 with him and my brothers.

I decided to go back and try to beat DK64 again a few months ago and found out that he still has the high score on the DK Arcade and it made me smile.

Happy Birthday Dad!
