Before they were three, they were already two. And their love was already big enough to hold an entire universe.

Soon, life gets louder. But right now? This quiet moment is just theirs. And I had the privilege of capturing it.

We are delighted to introduce Alysha Addetia as Orchestra Toronto’s new Executive Director! Alysha has been with OT as our general manager since 2024, and we are thrilled to have her assume the role of our full-time Executive Director.

Alysha is a renowned Canadian flautist, gaining prominence on the global music stage through her solo and ensemble performances. Most recently, she has recorded on the Toronto Tabla Ensemble’s albums, To Begin With (2023), For the Love of Tabla (2022), and Unexpected Guests (2020) and performs as part of Compañía Maria Serrano Flamenco. Alysha’s influence extends beyond her performances as she actively contributes to the Canadian music landscape as a member of the JUNO Awards Music Advisory Committee, promoting excellence in Canadian music. Alysha enjoys transcending cultural and geographical barriers, performing in a variety of engagements as the solo flautist in global-membered ensembles in France and Portugal.

In addition to her artistic achievements, Alysha is a seasoned arts administrator, recognized for her impactful contributions to organizations such as Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Ensemble at Harvard University, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and Nova Dance. She is excited to join the team at Orchestra Toronto and looks forward to contributing to the rich tapestry of Canada’s orchestral landscape.

These guys are some incredible musicians, last week we had the joy of listening at our Acoustic Evening. Here are a few shots I managed to steal, but there were many people playing instruments of all shapes and sizes. Thank you for all for playing, and inspiring me.

Guess where our Orchestra Toronto tote bag has been spotted? General Manager, @the_flautist took it all the way to the stunning Alhambra in Granada, Spain!

From the bustling streets of Toronto, the charming landscapes of Italy, the serene cottages up north, to the historic beauty of Granada, the OT spirit knows no bounds.

This summer, our music and love for exploration have truly gone global. 🌍❤️

Where should we go next?

Yesterday evening marked the first rehearsal of our 5th and final concert of the season, ‘Forces of Nature’.

This concert is extra special because not only is Orchestra Toronto performing Mahler Symphony No. 6 for the very first time, but we have 100-plus incredibly talented musicians who will bring this majestic symphony to life.

Swipe to enjoy some behind-the-scenes shots of what our rehearsals will look like for the next few weeks.

Visit the link in our bio to grab your tickets and experience the boiling energy on Saturday, June 8th, at 8pm, at the George Weston Recital Hall.
