This wasn't just a knockout.

I was standing across from Phet Utong, a fighter with an incredible pedigree and far more experience than me. You can feel that aura when you're standing across from someone who's spent a lifetime mastering their craft. I knew I wasn't going to beat him by playing his game. I had to trust my own.

Maybe it's my Mexican blood. Maybe it's just who I am. But I've always carried a fighting spirit that refuses to kneel. It's instinctive. A hunger that refuses to die. A willingness to keep walking forward, to give everything I have even when I'm on the edge, and to keep believing in myself when my mind is telling me it's over. That spirit has been the one constant throughout my entire life.

There were moments in that fight where I genuinely thought, "I'm going to lose again." But I refused to let that become the ending.

In those moments, I wasn't just fighting what was in front of me.

I was fighting for every lonely night. Every heartbreak nobody knows about. Every setback. Every moment I questioned myself. Every tear I shed in silence. Every time I had to pick myself back up when no one was there to do it for me.

All camp, I saw one image in my mind: Phet Utong laid out on the canvas. I replayed that moment until it became more real than my doubts.

With less than 90 seconds left, it happened.

When I looked across the ring and saw him lying on the canvas, it was eerily anticlimactic. I'd already lived that moment a hundred times in my mind.

That moment wasn't built in the final 90 seconds.

It was built in every unseen moment I refused to give up on myself.

Believe long enough for reality to catch up.
