POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One of my favorite parts of my discussion with the @the_menarrative was regarding representation and the importance of telling stories that reflect the complexity of our experiences.

With #findingchaz I wanted to create characters whose identities inform their experiences without entirely defining them.

Crimson Peak but featuring an Arab FMC, welcome to WEAVINGSHAW 🏰👻📜

I loved this book and how it wove a gothic atmosphere with geopolitics based on the Arab Refugee Crisis.

Add this to your TBR for #arabamericanheritagemonth !

AB-91, the MENA Inclusion Act, passed the assembly is off to California’s Senate!

After more than two years of community advocacy, the MENA Inclusion Act UNANIMOUSLY passed the Assembly with a huge 72-0 “Yea” vote!

This has been an uphill climb dozens of years in the making. Congratulations to all the community members, advocates, legislators, and all the lovers and the haters who pushed this through.

Next up .. the Senate. The village is ready.
