[super late post]

I attended my first #sephoria and wow wow wow. What a production.

Special shout out to my best sis @kkcox for her leadership in planning and executing this unforgettable experience.

I’m forever in awe of @ladyymelinda who hosted fireside chats with @issarae, masterclass with @maryphillips @jenatkinhair and @desiperkins, along with many others that weekend.

I had the pleasure of meeting @cynth_pop in person and wow what a gem of a human.

As a former makeup artist turned therapist who implements beauty into our confidence-building model at @solsistersorg, and having the pleasure to keynote for @sephora and provide mental health trainings for many other beauty brands, #sephoria was a little slice of heaven for me.

Once upon a time we went to Mexico and came back pregnant. Our lives changed instantly. I watched you go through so many versions of yourself - all of them focused on being the best mother. I had the pleasure of bringing these vibes to a park in Oakland to celebrate my dear friend @xavier.rernard ‘s 40th birthday.

And honestly?

My favorite part was seeing everyBODY join in.

The kids.
The friends.
The family.
The fellas.

And the joy was unmatched.

And that’s what AfroSoca Werkout has always been about for me.

Not just fitness, but connection.

Creating spaces where people feel seen, welcomed, energized, and excited to move their bodies together.

What started as a vision between sisters has grown into a movement rooted in healing, connection, and purpose. Mimo, Tiffany, and I have had the honor of building something that stretches far beyond us.

For those who don’t know — my career began in the Bay Area as a Women’s Rights Activist and co-producer of the @herplaceisin project. a massive collective art campaign where hundreds of women from all walks of life came together to reclaim power, visibility, and voice to challenge where society says our place should be.

Working on this project remains one of the greatest honors of my life.

At the time, I didn’t fully understand how much it would shape the path I was stepping onto. But looking back now, I see clearly how it planted the seed for everything that came after.

Her Place Is In was never just about photographs or art. It was about what happens when women gather in solidarity. When we make space for one another’s stories. When we challenge the narratives that try to shrink us.

It taught me something I’ve carried into every room I’ve stepped into since:

When women come together, something powerful happens.

New worlds begin to take shape.

That belief lives underneath all of my work today — the spaces I create, the stories I tell, the communities I help bring together.

Because the truth is simple:

When women are empowered, communities change.
And when women are FREE to embody their fullest expression, the whole world becomes freer as a result.

On this International Women’s Day, I’m honoring the women who shaped me, worked beside me, and continue to inspire the work I do.

When women rise, the whole world rises with us.
We are stronger together.
