Records fall. Standards rise. Legacy remains.

Arizona’s 200 Butterfly has a new king.

Haakon Naughton touches in 1:39.22 — rewriting the program record books and joining Arizona’s all-time greats.

He now stands ahead of a line of Wildcats who built this event into something special; from Justin Wright’s 2018 NCAA mark to the names that have defined Arizona butterfly excellence for over two decades.

This isn’t just a time drop. It’s the next chapter.

From Juan Veloz to Brooks Fail.
From A.J. Tipton to Joel Nace.
From one generation to the next — the standard keeps moving forward.

Wildcats don’t erase history.
They build on it.

Spent my first & last summer at UCSB 💛💙 with @ucsb_swim

Trained with the D1 team, improved a lot, and proudly ate bubbles at the back of the lane all summer 🫧
Huge thanks to coach @swimfish415 @the_mrright @JM for always being so patient and taking care of me ❤️ Grateful I got to crash the Gauchos’ party 🐊🥳🤓🥳🤓⸂
