Brian Markovic called most of champion Gippsland Trainer Peter Gelagotis successes locally. Peter also trained Rostock to success for Brian so today was a huge thrill to win the race named in his honour and we pay our respects to the family.

Recuperato has had a luckless campaign and it was great to see her bounce back to winning form aided by a superb ride by Ethan Brown.

Huge congratulations to the connections and a huge reward for the PGR Team at Southside Pakenham.

It’s a great way to start the season with a Saturday metro winner on P.B. Lawrence Day 🩷💙🏆

Quality 3yo Colt Wetumpka saluted in fine style winning his maiden at Sale in a tricky small field on heavy ground ridden perfectly by Ben Allen.

Having just his 6th start Wetumpka showed his class holding off a small field to break his maiden after having some of the best form lines around him and giving his patient connections a huge thrill.

Wetumpka has now built an impressive CV and is destined for greater things into the future.

Congratulations to all connections involved and the team back home 🤎🤍🤎🤍

5YO son of @arrowfieldstud Snitzel found his way back into the winners circle yesterday at Eagle Farm @brisbaneraces after what has been a long time coming!

He's progressed well after a relocation to our Gold Coast stables late last year and went down fighting last start for a narrow defeat in the Listed @magicmillions Cup.

With a step back in grade, apprentice @jasper_franklin03 partnered the gelding for the ride. The pair left the inside gate well and took up the lead shortly after the start.

Franklin was able to control the race from there on over the 1400m, kicking away over the final furlong to reward owners for their patience with a near 2 length victory.

Congratulations to all connections involved.

More black type for Group 3 winner Recuperato with a superb closing second in the Group 3 Sapphire Stakes at Caulfield.

After a recent setback, it was great to see her return to her best form and end the Spring Carnival on a good note for Team PGR. A big well done to everyone involved behind the scenes and congratulations to connections including a great ride by Declan Bates.

Recuperato could be now targeted to the Magic Millions in January.

Demon Darb chalked up win number 5 for us yesterday at a rain soaked Eagle Farm & I guess you could say it was “daylight second” winning by 4 1/2 lengths.

Despite the weather, we actually managed to have the horse’s Number 1 owner Annette Margaret Norris there for the winning photo and post race celebratory drinks this week on the Brisbane Racing Club.

Last time Demon Darb saluted the judge she was too busy talking to some avid punters (who backed him also) on the lawn at the winning post instead of being there for the photo!!

Luckily enough Robert Heathcote and the team have him flying at the moment and the win allowed us to capture “Mother” with horse and the winners sash as proud owner on Derby Day.

A terrific front running ride by stable star apprentice Tianni Chapman delivered a master class victory for promising stayer Van Gerwen who destroyed his rivals at Moe.

Coming off a freshen up, his recent first up run at Sale over 1717m in very good company laid the foundations for his up coming winter campaign which was on show today, it was a comprehensive win.

The win also delivered another timely double for Tianni Chapman at Moe and hopefully this spring boards her opportunities through winter where she will be in hot demand.

Congratulations to the patient owners and of course the hard working team behind the scenes at PGR.

Superb win and a great outcome for a very promising stayer for the future💙🤍
