Your mental health matters too 💙

Living with melanoma isn’t just about appointments, scans and treatments.

It can affect how you feel, how you see your body, your confidence, your relationships and your sense of what the future might look like.

And sometimes, you might find it difficult to put those feelings into words.

This World Mental Health Day, @the_psychodermatologist and Melanoma Focus Ambassador Dr Alia Ahmed, is reminding you that you don’t have to cope with everything alone.

If melanoma is affecting your mental wellbeing, please reach out.

Contact our skin cancer specialist nurse-led Melanoma Helpline for free, confidential advice:
📞 0808 801 0777
📅 Mon–Fri: 1pm–2pm & 7pm–9pm and Sun: 7pm–9pm

You can also find trusted and accredited information and resources on our website for patients and carers from diagnosis and treatment to wellbeing and life beyond melanoma.

Why does melanoma stay on your mind?

After a melanoma diagnosis, you might suddenly become aware of every mark on your skin.

That freckle you never noticed before.
That tiny change you keep looking at.
That thought that keeps coming back: “Could this be melanoma?”

Dr Alia Ahmed (@the_psychodermatologist), our Psychodermatologist Ambassador, explains why this can happen.

After cancer, your brain can become much more alert to anything that could be a potential sign, because it’s learned that your skin matters.

But not every mark is melanoma.

Keeping up with your skin checks and trusting your specialist team can help.

And if worrying or checking is becoming overwhelming, talking about how you’re feeling matters too.

Living with melanoma isn’t only about what happens physically. It can affect your thoughts, emotions and sense of security too.

You don’t have to face melanoma alone. Save the date for the Melanoma Patient Conference on Thursday 25th & Friday 26th February 2027 and join a community that understands.

Watch Dr Alia’s video to find out more.

Paid partnership with @eucerin 🤍

Honestly I had THE BEST DAY with the Eucerin family at EADV Vienna!

Feat. @dr.juliagallinger @dermdremma @neemamehta07 @florentine.noll78 @drellierashid @drtemiawotedu_dermatologist @dermdrsarah @cedricsaba @aurel_sur_insta @the_psychodermatologist @dreirinimerika @drmargogkini

We had a full day of filming with icons
@dr.juliagallinger and @drtemiawotedu_dermatologist, followed by the Eucerin symposium, learning more about Probiom8, acne-prone skin and the skin microbiome! Such an interesting evolving area of dermatology!

One of my biggest takeaways is that acne care is about so much more than just treating the spots. The skin barrier and microbiome are important parts of acne treatment too.

We ended the day with the most gorgeous evening in Vienna’s Museum Quarter 🥂 It was lovely to sit with the Eucerin team and catch up with my UK dermatology colleagues.

Such a wonderful team and definitely a day (and night!) to remember 🥰

Thank you so much Eucerin for having me and making me feel so welcome 🤍 Lots of exciting content coming over the next few days 👀

Been waiting to share this one 🤭

Spent the morning at Cetaphil Derm @cetaphiluk on Tour at Battersea Power Station with dermatologist colleagues @dr.kentley and @drsoniasharma_, talking all things sensitive skin and skincare with everyone who came by.

Later in the day, @dermdremma, @dermdrsarah and @the_psychodermatologist took over the Derm on Tour shift ✨

Also, first time at Battersea Power Station and wow… such a good venue 😍

I’ve been a fan of the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for ages, and the Repair & Renew PM Serum with CICA was definitely having a moment today too.

If you came over to say hi, it was so lovely meeting you 🫶🏼
