Hello everyone!

The past months of this year have been, in many ways, more than extraordinary.

It all began in February, when, thanks to a friend, I finally found a studio where now I can paint and have fun!

Then came April, when I had the opportunity to give my first talk on the history of Venice to the class of Professor Uranchimeg (Orna) Tsultem at Indiana University Indianapolis

One of the most meaningful milestones of this year has also been being appointed Art Exhibition Coordinator for the National Mongolian Pavilion at the Biennale Arte of Venice 2026.
In this role, I have had the opportunity to work alongside incredible figure such as @orna_tsultem , curator @the_quantum_self , @purevsuren_bekhbat_ , the Blue Sun Center for Contemporary Art, the Mongolian Biennale Foundation, @zuecca_project_space , and artists @bold.nomin @gerelkhuu_ganbold , @tuguldur_yondonjamts_ , and @dorjderemdavaa .

At the same time as the opening of the Mongolia Pavilion, the exhibition “Within Change”, curated by @_aizenev_ and @oscarchloedirectory opened at Palazzo da Mosto in Venice, where some of my paintings are included.

It has been quite a journey so far, and I am truly excited to say that this is only the beginning.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported me along the way, and I look forward to sharing more in the future.

We are beyond thrilled to announce that Nomin Bold will represent Mongolia at the 2026 Venice Biennale as part of the Mongolian National Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.

The Mongolian Pavilion is nominated and proposed by the Mongolian Contemporary Art Center “Blue Sun” and the Mongolian Biennale Foundation. The pavilion will be curated by Chief Curator Orna Tsultem with Co-Curator Thomas Eller and will feature artists Dorjderem Davaa, Gerelkhuu Ganbold, Nomin Bold, and Tuguldur Yondonchamts.

The 61st International Art Exhibition, titled In Minor Keys, was conceived by the late Koyo Kouoh and will run May 9 – November 22, 2026 (preview May 6–8) across the Giardini, Arsenale, and venues throughout Venice. With the support of Kouoh’s family, La Biennale di Venezia will carry out her exhibition as she defined it, preserving her vision.

Liliana Bloch Gallery has proudly represented Nomin Bold since 2021, presenting her 2021 solo exhibition and the 2024 two-person exhibition Chasing the Wolf with Bataarzorig Batjargal. Watching her practice evolve and gain international recognition has been an extraordinary journey.

Trained in Mongol Zurag, Mongolia’s traditional painting technique, Bold examines Mongolia’s transition into modernity. Her compositions layer Buddhist iconography, historical symbolism, and contemporary visual language to explore generational tension and the transformation of tradition in a global era.

Bold has exhibited internationally at Documenta 14, the Bangkok Art Biennale, the Asia Pacific Triennial at QAGOMA, the International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Brazil, the Bodrum Biennial, and the Shenzhen–Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale.

Featured Work:
Positive (2020), Negative (2018), Equation (2020), and Transporter (Tapestry, 2020), Chagtaga (2020).
