Here are some recently posted and very positive reviews of ‘You Only Need One Kidney...’

Kind words from Ryan Morgan Miller @rmorganmiller : “Really, Douglas Hackle has outdone himself. This latest novel of his has become my favorite—all of his absurdist stylings are firing on all cylinders, creating a fever dream of unprecedented proportions. An absurdist plot, offbeat humor, insane imagery, and fanciful characters (often inanimate objects) all push this book into truly remarkable territory.”

I know that I have but a few readers, but I believe each one of them played a role in helping me become the writer than I am now.

☕📖Tea and Currently Reading

Thank you, @mylifein.books, for the tag!

Last week, @the_read_rat and I started our next buddy-read – East of Eden by John Steinbeck. This is the first time I am reading Steinbeck, and I am enjoying it much more than I hoped I would. I find the story and his style of writing very engaging, and I am excited to see how this book unfolds.

I am also currently listening to an audiobook – Writer’s Diary by Fyodor Dostoevsky, which is a collection of his essays, thoughts, and short stories on various topics that influenced him as a writer. It is an absolute must-read for all Dostoevsky fans.

What are you reading this week?

I am tagging a few friends, no pressure!

🖤Currently reading 🖤

It’s been a little while since I last posted here, so it feels nice to jump back in with a tag from a fellow book friend. Thank you, @mylifein.books for the tag! 🤍

Life has been keeping me very busy lately, but it’s also been a productive few weeks. Through it all, I’m still finding little pockets of time to read, and for that, I’m very grateful.

I’ve just finished reading Penance by Kanae Minato and I absolutely loved it. This book captivated me from the very beginning. It’s deep, heavy, reflective, and also emotionally layered. I really enjoyed Minato’s writing style. Im definitely planning to read her Confessions in the near future!

Looking forward to catching up on everyone’s recent reads and seeing what else everyone has been up to 🤍📚
I'm tagging a few friends, but no pressure!

QOTD: What has been the best book you've read this year so far?

🐉✨️ Dragon Stack ✨️🐲

I was inspired by these stunning bookends from @geek_and_artsy_bookish to gather all my book dragons together and don't they look wonderful?! 😍

So I've tagged a few people to do the same! But no pressure, its just for fun 🥰

Head over to the Geek and Artsy website to get your own dragon book ends! Don't forget to take code VBLIB15 with you for 15% off 😘

❓️ Who is your favourite fictional dragon? 🤔

Mine is an evil dragon 🤣 but I was swayed by the goegrous teddy version of her I got from Disneyland Paris... Maleficent 😍

✨️ Name Bookstack ✨️

❓️ Do you like your name? Any idea what you'd change it to if you could? 🤔

As a kid, I hated my name, but I'm used to it now and I have no idea what I'd change it to 😂

(I know this song isn't exactly flattering to the Samantha for whom it's titled but its the only song that came up for my name and it's getting so hard to think of matching music for my posts 🤣)

I was tagged in the #namestackchallenge by the wonderful @shipshapesmithy 🥰 I've tagged a few people to join in, but no pressure! It's just for fun ♥️
