Elysian Garden I & II are part of a group show opening tonight @the_source_space curated by @juliet_rania for @upstateartweekend 🤍

Continuing with the theme of hands as portraits these two paintings evoke the ephemeral traces of the body like Kirlian photography. Elysium is attributed to the Greek concept referring to a paradise reserved for hero’s/heroines and the blessed dead. A place filled with bliss

As an aside the concept of Elysium goes further back than the Greeks. The Egyptian Book of the Dead references a paradise garden that is entered by souls whose hearts are lighter than a feather. And Gilgamesh of Uruk references a paradise for the heroic, Zoroastrian texts, etc!

Showing some iron-filled towerbusters from my orgonite archive at @the_source_space group show opening today in Woodstock NY🙏 As the bronze age wound down iron became the go-to material for protection against spirits, curses, and unseen forces, from canaanites to celts to everywhere else. You could think of orgonite as an extension of those mineral-based spiritual protection traditions, imagine it like a horseshoe nailed to the door, repelling and deflecting unwanted energies in the unseen realms. Iron is one of only a few elements that are naturally magnetic, it responds strongly to magnetic fields and retains magnetism after exposure. This means iron is capable of being charged with directional force—even when invisible to the eye. 🧿

•+*•+~*+ Hello from The Source! @the_source_space @upstateartweekend ✨✨✨
•
Dear friends & kinfolk, please join us tomorrow in Woodstock NY for Upstate Art Week & our opening ceremony at The Source••• 5-8 PM
Our lovely Juliet Rania has curated an incredible show, The Earth Is the Highest Form of Agape. 🌍♥️
•••
I will be doing a performance of sorts, consisting of 3 parts; Poem, Fire, Seeds.
I am reading my poem tentatively titled: "your body is my body; there is a river; we must cross it together", facilitating a burn ritual at the fire pit, followed by a seed- planting ritual on the grounds at the Source.
•
If you are joining us please bring something to offer to the fire ❤️‍🔥
•
Swipe through the post to see photos of some of the works that will be on display.
After our opening at the Source we will be shifting on over to our friends @zeljkovision & nico's space for continued art, music, performances.
🌙

special shout out to @hudsonvalleyseedco for having the most beautifullest seed library i have yet to visit. 🌱
& @jollyburnz for driving, taking footage, support with installation, & bringing cool lights~ 📸

Repost from @the_source_space

This exhibition explores the ancient concept of Agape - a form of love defined by radical selflessness; unconditional, non-possessive, and rooted in care for the other.
We invite viewers to consider the Earth as a living embodiment of that love — a provider, sustainer, and witness to all life. Through painting, installation, sculpture and mixed media, these artists reflect on the fundamental principles of circularity, origin, and return. The works ask us to consider what we plant — literally and metaphorically — and what we will inevitably harvest, now and in generations to come.
“Driven by the forces of love, the fragments of the world seek each other so that the world may come into being.”
— Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
