Thanks mom❤️

…for convincing me to go to the public opening of the gallery this weekend and for being the reason I ever picked up a camera in the first place. You’ve always been an inspiration and the person I go to for advice. Oh and thank you for driving so I didn’t have to spend money on gas😅. I also want to thank my grandma for coming with me as well.

It’s such a great honor to have my picture displayed in such a great gallery and with so many other great pieces and artists. Shoutout @abigail.saylor and her great photo! I had a great night at the public opening and couldn’t have been more surprised to see that I had won the award for Best Student Category photo. Such a blessing from God that I happened to see an ad for the Biennial otherwise I wouldn’t have ever known about it or gotten this great experience.

The 2026 Biennial showcase will run until December 20th so if you are in or close to Omaha go check it out!

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to interview photography professor John Banasiak about his final year at University of South Dakota before retiring after 46 years at the university. Since 1980, he has inspired countless students, and I’m thankful I had the chance to help tell his story.

I produced this story both as an article for @the_volante and as a television package for @usdcoyotenews . Working in both formats allowed me to strengthen my broadcast writing skills while also expanding on details and storytelling in print.

Today, The Volante’s team worked on the last print night of the semester. While it can get chaotic in the office, we still make sure everything is ready to go. Pick up our Summer Edition tomorrow, May 6th, or visit The Volante online. We wish you a great summer #GoYotes

I’m honored to share that I received the SGA President’s Award, recognizing a student who demonstrates exceptional commitment to leadership.
For three semesters, I served as Student Technical Director for the Student Government Association, working behind the scenes to manage the weekly livestream and sound system.
This semester, I’ve stepped into the role of Editor-in-Chief of The Volante, where I’ve continued developing my leadership style, focusing on supporting my team and helping others reach their full potential.
I’m grateful to SGA for this recognition and for the opportunities that have shaped my leadership journey.
