Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. (Yes, I stole this quote) Watch design doesn‘t have to be extravagant nor complicated as shown in the first shot. The different arrangement of lines form two different patterns which showcase how simple lines are enough to be admired. As many watch collectors there are two sides, your normal self and the collector, who is obsessively on the journey to discover and refine his view and taste of watches. The reverso allows the wearer to enjoy two sides, covering two parts of your daily life and mood to either dress down or show of your passion in watchmaking. Macro view of the gold dial lineal pattern shows a very cool finishing, a little tilt and the whole dial lights up. Love this dial! This was a massive undertaking by our entire creative team. So much went into making this campaign happen on all fronts and watching this idea evolve from concept (naturally it was incepted while BSing at the office) to a digital product is one of the creative projects I’ve been most excited to be a part of in quite some time. It builds on that nostalgic feeling we all got as kids when that toy catalog arrived and really, the vintage vibe is as Analog:Shift as it gets. The Seiko Navigator Timer has always been one of my favourite vintage Seikos and I had been lucky to add this to my collection a few years ago. The reissue seems to be quite faithful including the bracelet. The bracelet looks solid but I am more curious about the clasp! The original 6117-8000 came in 3 dial variants, wondering which future iterations and dial colours we will see with the reissue.
