ORIADÉ IS HERE.
In Yoruba, Oriade means
“The crown has arrived”
or
“The crown has come to meet me.”
Ori — crown, royalty, destiny
Àdé — has arrived
A name of royalty and divine arrival.
This piece is my interpretation of that energy.

ORIADE IS COMING.
Started this new painting inspired by Davido’s latest album.

My sister hit me up and said I should paint Davido’s new album art, in the same style as the Kelvin Talent portrait.
Bought the idea. Currently working on it.
Hoping @davido loves it when it’s done.

From Zero to Success: Kelvin Talent
I painted this portrait not just as appreciation, but as a statement.
I may not have the capital to dive into forex yet…but I have my art.
Nd I’m using it to open doors nd seek knowledge.
Hoping this finds you,

On Saturday the 15th, as bodies lay numb from the Valentine thrill, The Society, NG had her inaugural writer's picnic. This is how the idea came about:

The hosts, Enyinna @enyinnawrites and Chinecherem @vcenujioke , had always dreamt of doing this—building a community of South-Eastern writers to redefine narratives from the region and create a space where writers, so frequently overlooked, can finally be heard. In a place where literary gatherings are scarce, this was more than a movement—it was a reclamation, a defiance, and through the Sprinng '24 workshop, they met.

So, it wasn't something that just happened, an idea that sprouted from a single conversation. Rather, due to several incidents and encounters, the seeds were sown, until late last year, when it became a reality.

The picnic took place at Nnamdi Azikiwe University's Awka Campus, under the generous shade of a Neem tree, its branches swaying lazily in the afternoon breeze.

The picnic had everything it ought to have—food, drinks, games, and seemingly ceaseless discussions that flowed into each other with unrehearsed ease.

There were readings too—from Chisom’s woozy love poem to Chiwenite’s soft-spoken yet profoundly piercing piece that left everyone in reflective silence, and Kierian’s gripping fiction that had the group wanting more. The highlights of the day, however, were the games Tion Tion Tion and a spontaneous Story Chain session, where one person started a story with a single sentence, and each participant added their own, pushing the narrative forward until it reached a natural conclusion.

By the time the sun began its descent, casting elongated shadows across the grass, it was clear that this was not just a one-time event. The Society, NG was no longer just an idea—it was breathing, billowing, becoming something bigger than any of them had imagined.

As people packed up their things, there was only one question on their lips: "When is the next one?"

The inaugural picnic is just the beginning—stay tuned for workshops, readings, and more. Join us @thesocietyng !

Congratulations to me once again, on becoming the first runner up in the past Niger Delta King and Queen Pageantry. It wasn’t expected but, all thanks to the almighty., he knows all. I also thank @t_n_d_k_q @glam_by_vinx , our C.E.O and @frankchisom_001 for being the motivation I needed, together with other friends of mine. May the good lord continue to bless you all.
