We were lucky enough to spend time this week working with the incredible @thea.panainte creating original songs for Echo and Contessa to perform in the show. Who doesn't love an 80s disco banger or feminist power ballad? 🎶💥 🎥Video description: a reel showing a selfie of Anne, Sarah and Thea followed by clips of them working on music for Echo with Thea sitting composing at a piano.

ECHO TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣 We’re super excited that, thanks to @creativescots Open Fund, we’ve brought on board Ana-Thea Panainte (@thea.panainte) as Musical Director and Composer for Echo, bringing a wealth of experience from her work on the West End, touring, and panto. Thea is a British-Romanian Musical Director, Pianist and Composer based in Glasgow, and an alumna of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She graduated with a Masters of Arts in Musical Directing, after receiving her Bachelor of Music with Honours in Piano Performance as a recipient of an ABRSM full scholarship, and is currently a Lecturer in Musical Theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. As a freelance creative, she has worked with companies across Scotland, including the Ayr Gaiety Theatre, Dundee Rep and Raw Material, while as a musician, Thea has performed in theatres and concert venues across the UK, including the Usher Hall and Castle Esplanade in Edinburgh, the Royal Concert Hall and Kings Theatre in Glasgow, Trafalgar Theatre in London, the Liverpool Playhouse and the Grand Opera House in Belfast. As an avid geek for Greek mythology, Thea is excited to be working with the other wonderful creatives involved in this project to explore and bring to life the story of Echo! 🎹🎵 #ScottishTheatre #FeministTheatre #FeministRetelling #GreekMyth #GreekMythology #WorkInProgress #Glasgow 📷 Image description: Headshot of Ana-Thea Panainte with the words “Echo Team Announcement” in white surrounded by a turquoise Grecian-style border. Monumentally late to this party but: GRAD BALL (20/09/21). An amazing night with an Amazing group of people... even if I do not entirely remember Loch Lomond. Included is a collage of people I wish I'd gotten photos with that night and some just truly iconic shots (Ms @zolajanem). Swipe to the end for a Specialty drop from mr @_cole4xmas_. I love you all so much X #party #ball #musicaltheatre #musicalpeople #iwishtherewasawaytoknowyoureinthegoodolddaysbeforeyouveactuallyleftthem A family portrait, A New Detective Agency and The Best Comedic Duo
