“Joy for me is…” a creative drawing workshop that brought people from diverse backgrounds together to reflect on the significance of joy.

Through drawing and conversation, the group recognized the depth and varied meanings of the word. Over the course of the workshop, responses became more specific, emotional, and reminded participants of forgotten memories.

What is ‘joy’ for you?

A workshop hosted by @groovin4good and @snapshot.collab , during their ‘Rhythms of Resistance’ festival, a fundraiser for @rainbowmigration hosted @thepicklefactory_easton .

Project: STRANGERS to STRANGERS

“Joy for me is…” a creative embroidery workshop hosted at Arnolfini that brought people from diverse backgrounds together to reflect on the significance of joy.

Through embroidery and conversation, the group recognized the depth and varied meanings of the word ‘joy’. Over the course of the workshop, responses became more specific, emotional, and reminded participants of forgotten memories.

Those who joined the session left with an embroidered art piece, recalled experiences, and a new community.

Wha is ‘joy’ for you?

A project to represent the likeness of strangers, that no matter how unalike we may seem, we can still find connections through our differences.
