MEELO “THE HAMMER” ZAMORA
Grappling X California State Nor-Cal Champion.
4 Year Old 40lbs White Belt Division.

Thanks Uncle @miltonmtp for capturing Meelo’s first competition.

Meelo trains wrestling 2X a week and gymnastics 1X a week. He currently is not old enough to participate in the Jiu Jitsu program. When he heard that Myles and I were competing he said “I want to fight too!”

He took one lesson in the GI from coach BoPo two days before the competition.

“Regularly learn and play new sports” - Greg Glassman

I think this is one of the main things that was lost by most people who trained CrossFit and still do.

You have to be comfortable looking like you don’t know what you’re doing, because you won’t.

It creates vulnerability and teaches you new skills.

Go try something new and have some fun.

6-3 today double bracketed for the first time DEFINITELY challenging running match to match no breaks, but I promised myself last year that this year at Vegas freakshow I will place and redeem myself after last year, so I wanted the preparation! Thank you to everyone who cornered me ! Freakshow in 5 days, I feel ready. #athlete #wrestlers #training #wrestle #foryou

Be Tuff.
I have been a father for only 9 years.
In the grand scheme of things I’m still a rookie.

One thing I have been focusing on is mental resilience for my boys. If you ask my boys “what does crying solve” they will response “nothing”.

I do not tell them they can’t cry or that they can’t feel emotions. I just remind them they have to learn to identify and solve their problem.

Last night Myles got slammed in practice and his nose started bleeding. He didn’t cry, he immediately came to me on the side of the mat and told me clearly what happened. We cleaned his face, stuffed his nose, took a picture for mom and he was back to wrestling.

I’m raising strong, capable young men that work hard and love God. I’m going to always be there to support them and guide them but am teaching them they have it in themselves to figure it out.
