We’re continuing our Columbia Series with the Arcade Building!

Constructed in 1912 as Columbia’s first indoor shopping center, the Arcade brought a new retail experience to downtown. The two-story building includes above-ground retail space and a full basement with street access for additional shops. Its two identical terra cotta façades face Main and Washington Streets, forming the landmark’s “L” shape.

Today, the Arcade Building remains a memorable part of Columbia’s downtown story and an example of early 20th-century commercial design.

Had a good day yesterday 😁

For lunch, we ate at Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and Bar which has some delicious food!

Walking down Main Street, we decided to go inside the Arcade Building. It’s so pretty! There’s also a bookstore inside 😁

Also on Main Street we stopped by Nibl for dessert and an iced coffee both were delicious! I got a Honey butter cream cold brew and a fruit tart 😋

An evening spent exploring one of my favorite cities. 💕 Katie & Sam’s session was a great way to kick off this busy spring season. ✨

It’s like choosing a favorite child! 👶🏽

I always enjoy the First Thursday events each month courtesy of @onecolumbia. As the former public art administrator for the organization, I understand the need for public space + high visibility events for Artists.

There’s no tabling fee and the other participants are always lovely to get to know.

Check it out if you’re a #SouthCarolina creator!

How I spent a random Saturday last weekend. Scoping out and supporting other small businesses, finding new growers to partner with, doing some event planning, a winter wedding consultation and enjoying myself. #getoutanddrive #smallbusinessowner #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinessowners
