6 years ago today, we got married! ✨ We planned a simple wedding and all we really cared about was tying the knot. We didn’t even plan a first dance, but my friends had other plans and made us dance to One Direction. 😜

Here’s to many more years of going with the flow and seeing where life takes us. ♡

At one of the lowest moments in my life, I walked into a professional photography session. Looking back, I honestly do not know how I made it through the door.

When Sabrina and I reviewed the photographs from *Light and Legacy*, one image stopped me. She had captured me—the part of me I could no longer see beneath the grief.

It was evidence that I was still in there.

And I loved her. I loved that part of me.

This summer, I asked documentary photographers to capture our wedding celebration as it happened. I wanted to see our family, our life and the home we had created through another person’s eyes. I needed help trusting what was true again.

Then, during a lunch-hour walk, I lifted my own camera and kept taking photographs until one finally looked like what I felt.

*The Part of Me That Knows How to Look* is about photography, grief and the ways an image can become evidence—first that I was still there, then that the life we had built was real, and finally that I could begin to trust my own eyes again.

Set against the forest backdrop of Waterfall Lodge, California, Pablo and Mikee's wedding day was filled with heartfelt vows, joyful celebration, and the people who love them most. Every laugh, every tear, every dance floor moment, we captured it all so they can relive this day forever.

Damian and Trishia | A Wedding in Chicago, Illinois 🍂

Some stories take you farther than expected. Ours led us to Chicago.

Our first wedding in the city wasn't just about a new destination. It was about finding another story worth telling. Damian & Trisha reminded us that the most meaningful moments aren't found in the grandest places, but in the quiet glances, the unspoken promises, and the people who choose each other, every single day.

Thank you, Damian & Trisha for trusting us to tell your story.

Glad to have worked with the following equally talented team:

A cabin. A river. A forest. A wedding venue. And fresh eggs for breakfast. Yes, all of that. In one place at River Retreat Kananaskis.

Todd and Jaxy have created something that doesn’t have a category. It’s a stay. It’s a venue. It’s a whole vibe. 🍃⛰️

Just an hour from Calgary, River Retreat Kananaskis feels like a world away. Nestled between the mountains and the river, it’s a tranquil escape from the crowds. Here, nature takes center stage, and the peace hits differently. 🌿🏔️
