New headshots with the same old soul.

After nearly a decade of capturing weddings, we’ve found ourselves refining not only how we photograph them, but why.

More and more, we’re drawn to the idea of heritage. The traditions we inherit, the ones we create, and the photographs that allow them to live beyond us.

We believe a wedding is the beginning of a family’s history. The people gathered, the quiet exchanges, the grand celebrations and intimate details all become part of a story that will eventually be looked back on by people who weren’t even there.

Since having kids, that realization has shaped the direction of our work: timeless wedding photography rooted in love, family, heritage, and legacy.

So, here’s new headshots of the two people behind the cameras, and a renewed sense of purpose for the work we’re so grateful to create with you. Cheers to the stories you’ll live now, and the ones you’ll leave behind. ✨

“Swans are known for forming lifelong partnerships, choosing one another with instinct and devotion, and remaining steadfast through changing seasons,” says Aubrey Rae of Aubrey Rae Photography, who captured a dreamy design inspired by the symbolism of the elegant bird. Aiming to reflect that sentiment through the timeless styling of an al fresco wedding day at Havens Country Club, an enchanting vision came to life. Rooting the scene in quiet ethereality, the palette of soft sage, ivory and blush worked with the oak trees and natural elements of the estate, evoking a romantic serenity.
Soft lace and ivory draping catch on the wind of the intimate stone courtyard serving as the imagined ceremony space. An image of effortless texture and languid movement, vines crawl up the sides of the altar with beautiful blooms, pillar candles and two swan figurines perfectly framing the bride and groom against the grounds of the estate. One can imagine friends and family lounging happily in the theater-style upholstered seating while watching the happy couple say “I do.”
Delicate and understated without skimping on elegance, the reception scene is peppered with swan motifs. From subtle table accents to the grand ice sculpture, the symbol carried its grace throughout the simply styled celebration. “Every detail served as a quiet reminder that enduring love is often found not in grand gestures, but in thoughtful beauty and unwavering devotion,” says Aubrey Rae.

Venue Spotlight | Rancho Santa Fe

A little June throwback to brunch with my Société Privée community at Rancho Santa Fe.

One of the things I look for when exploring a venue is whether it can carry an entire wedding weekend—not just the wedding day.

Rancho Santa Fe immediately stood out to me for that.

A welcome dinner in the courtyard, a wedding surrounded by the gardens and Spanish architecture, poolside time with guests, and a leisurely brunch the following morning—it gives you room to build an entire weekend around the property rather than treating it as a single event.

I got to experience the brunch side of it back in June, and it was such a fun way to see the property outside of a wedding-day timeline.

Spanish architecture, patterned tile, lush gardens, vintage-inspired details, bikes, and beautiful outdoor spaces give you plenty to photograph throughout the weekend, too.

For couples planning a destination wedding weekend in San Diego, this is one I’d have on my list. 🤎
