I owe some people a huge thank you and I want to take time to give flowers to everyone involved in making my special night possible. 🌹
▫️
▫️
To my cousin: thank you so much for driving all the way from Houston to background dance for me. We been dancing since we were kids and it felt so good to win it all beside you, it was like we was back in PA just having fun in the living room again. ILYSM. 🌹
▫️
▫️
To Shauntelle (my stylist): thank you so much for being the amazing designer that you are and allowing me to wear this custom fit for my performance. Driving down from San Marcos to hand deliver it to me means more to me than you know. 🌹
▫️
▫️
To Mark & Judges: thank you so much for creating this platform for creatives like myself to showcase their gifts, talents, and abilities. From day one, you were encouraging me to just do my best every single week. You, Adam, Fabi, Ari, and Nay knew how hard I was trying to win first place every single week and it would be so close but I’d fall short. To be fair, I was going against so incredibly talented individuals but I decided to take the critiques and feedback to get better, more confident, and it paid off in the end. Fab told me, it’s not who wins the battles, it’s about who wins the war that matters! 🌹
▫️
▫️
To my friends and fans: You will never know how much it meant to me to have some of you show up every single week or the weeks you could make it over these last 13 weeks. As well, so many people came to support their own friends but would keep showing up to support and root for me even after being eliminated. Those acts of love and support, I am forever grateful for. 🌹

I needed this competition and win to get my spark back. So much has happened over the last few years pursing music that it was becoming more like work than love and the moment you stop loving something, it’s hard to want to keep striving for your dreams but this opportunity reminded me that no matter the setback, no matter who believes in you, no matter how many times you get knocked down, getting back up to fight is all the ever matters because no one makes their dream come true without a fight and I’m so glad I just kept swinging. 🙏🏾🌹

Week 8 of Austin Idol: Broadway Night
Song: Jamie Foxx - When I First Saw You (Dreamgirls)

When I tell yall this was one of the best and frustrating night of the competition. Everyone brought their A game, there was not one bad performance. However, we had some tech issues where ppl tracks were skipping, some even had to sing acapella so to keep things fair, everyone advanced to round 9. It’s dwindling down with only 3 weeks left, if you haven’t had a chance to see a show, you don’t want to miss this upcoming Sunday. Fighting for a spot in the finale. 🎉💪🏾🎤🎶
