POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In 1998, a group of visionary arts philanthropists came together to create a fund that would support the careers of New Zealand arts practitioners, across many art forms. Twenty-five years on, the foundation they established, The Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi, has supported 145 laureates.

You can preorder a copy of Arts Legends Aotearoa now on our website. Copies will ship 5 November. Brilliantly designed by Inhouse with two covers — one pink and one yellow 🩷💛

Wahoo another Springboard Comic for @thesaplingnz, @storylinesnz edition! What a total joy my first Storylines Hui was (read the full rundown at thesapling.co.nz!) I feel SO lucky to be part of this incredible community, and to meet some of my big children's book heroes. Till the next one!

As always, huge thanks to my mate @giselle_c_illo and my friends at @theartsnz - without whom I couldn't have afforded to go to the hui!

We’re at 89%! But we're still going.

A little AMO progress report, and a very big thank you to the ones showing up for this film. To everyone who has shared a post, sent it to a mate, left a comment or helped spread the word, we see you, you're amazing.

With 17 days left of our Boosted campaign, can you help get us across the line?

Know someone who’d be into a surreal, absurdist dark comedy about a rat catcher and a whole lot of doppelgängers? Send it their way. Follow along, share the campaign, get the word out. Help us find the people who want to see this film exist.

Let’s make it happen. Love you, guys, bye.

The Art's Foundation Te Tumu Toi honoured two Māori creatives whose work has reshaped the visual language of Aotearoa. Tyrone Ohia and Emily Karaka were both awarded the prestigious honour – both finding a way to make Māori identity visible and beautiful in their own ways.

Her daughter, Vanessa Reynolds, and whānau accepted the award on her behalf, while fellow artist Brett Graham read the citation. We send Emily our warmest wishes
