20 YEARS OF MAWA’S KITCHEN. ONE INCREDIBLE STORY TO TELL. 💚 This October, we’re celebrating 20 years of Mawa’s Kitchen in a way we’ve never done before! We’re thrilled to collaborate with Theatre Aspen (@theatreaspenco) and StoryCourse to present Stories from Mawa’s Kitchen, an extraordinary evening where food meets theatre and Chef Mawa McQueen (@mawamcqueen)’s journey comes to life. Through an immersive five-course dining experience, guests will discover the stories, cultures, and flavors that have shaped Chef Mawa’s life, from her roots in Africa to her journey to Aspen. Bringing Chef Mawa’s story to the stage is Broadway actress Asmeret Ghebremichael (@asmeretghebremichael), portraying Chef Mawa in this one-of-a-kind theatrical experience. The production is co-directed and written by Adam Kantor (@adamjkantor) and Charly Jaffe (@charlyjaffe), with additional writing by Leanne Antonio (@leannejantonio). Together, this talented creative team brings to life a powerful celebration of two decades of passion, perseverance, and the art of storytelling through food. Even more meaningful, proceeds will support Theatre Aspen’s education programs and scholarships throughout the Roaring Fork Valley! 📅 October 23 & 25, 2026 📍 Mawa’s Kitchen | Aspen, Colorado Limited seating available. Reserve your seat through the link in our bio or visit theatreaspen.org
