🥫 HIGH SCHOOLERS ARE ON A MISSION. WILL YOU JOIN THEM?

Today, Mountain Ridge High School kicks off its 3rd Annual Hope Drive for the Valley with Restore Hope for the Valley! ☀️

For the next four weeks, MRHS students will be collecting food and financial donations to help meet the growing needs right here in our Valley.

And these students know how to SHOW UP. 🙌

Last year, MRHS collected 11,476 pounds of food + $2,455 for local hunger relief. They have even earned the distinction of collecting the most food in the state nearly every year they’ve participated.

But here’s the thing: the need isn’t slowing down.

Within days of receiving last year’s donations, the food bank had already distributed most of the food. Families are still struggling. Shelves still need to be stocked. And every can counts.

So, Valley, how can YOU help these high schoolers reach their goal?

🥫 Start a CAN STASH.
Halloween is coming! If neighborhood kids come knocking for cans instead of candy, be ready. 😉 Stock up and have a stash waiting for them to collect.

🛒 Fill a bag.
Grab a few extra items the next time you’re at the grocery store and send them with a student.

💵 Give financially.
Every dollar helps turn into even more cans for the drive, without students having to haul it all themselves.

📣 START YOUR OWN HOPE DRIVE.
Your workplace. Your church. Your neighborhood. Your team. Your classroom. Gather your people and turn your corner of the Valley into a place of hope.

Because this isn’t just about cans.

It’s about high school students learning that they have the power to make a difference. It’s about neighbors helping neighbors. It’s about showing up when our community needs us.

MRHS has been showing us what happens when young people choose to care. Let’s show them we’re right behind them. ❤️

📅 October 5 – November 2
🎯 Goal: 20,000 pounds of food + $1,000

Want to donate online? Visit the MRHS Hope Drive donation page through the link in our bio.

And if you start a Hope Drive of your own, tell us! We want to cheer you on. 🫶

WOW WOW WOW!!!! I am so happy to announce that I am the ASU Gammage High School Musical Theatre Best Lead Female. I can’t even begin to say how grateful I am. Going to The Jimmy’s has been a dream of mine ever since I heard @andrewbfeldman_ sing “I Love Betsy” in 2018, and I can’t believe it’s finally happening!! This was my school’s first year participating in The ASU Gammage Awards, so I wasn’t even sure I had a shot at going. I’m so grateful for my theatre teacher, my coaches, and my grandparents for always believing in me. I don’t think I could’ve done it without you guys. Little Brooklyn would be freaking out right now, but so is present Brooklyn. I can’t wait to see all of the amazing talent in New York!! @asugammage @jimmyawards #asugammagehsmta #jimmyawards

Happy National Theatre Day!
.
I was in fifth grade when I got cast in my very first show, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I played an Oompa Loompa, and from the very first day I stepped on stage, I knew I wanted to become a performer. Ever since then, I’ve stayed true to that dream. I’m so grateful to have theatre as such a big part of my life. My next show will be Hadestown: Teen Edition at Greasepaint, so make sure to get your tickets for our performances in May!

All 5 DVUSD High School Theatre Programs have teamed up to host a Theatre Clinic on Saturday, September 28th from 8:45am - 2:00pm at Mountain Ridge High School!

Student participants will enjoy a 5-Part Rotating Workshop that will incorporate: Acting, Singing, Dancing, Tech, and Improv. They will then present their new skills in a Short Final Showcase.
