I couldn’t be happier with how the AUDBALL IV turned out! I rarely get footage or photos because we have such a good time. You barely see people on their phones. I owe the success of this year to @therealkeiaj and @kj_management - it wouldn’t have happened without Keia this year. I wasn’t in the headspace to believe we could pull it off and Keia’s motivation and support proved me wrong and pushed me out of fear. I am so proud of our community and what we have accomplished TOGETHER! It’s the AUD thing to do!

Loved experiencing Black Nativity, volume 1: track 8, from weekly rehearsals. I got a sneak peak of the creatives choices behind a Memphis retelling of this classic gospel play. Listen to our most recent episode on the #BlackNativity Original Cast Album from 1962. The play is Langston Hughes’ adaptation of the nativity story with a gospel flare! 🎙️🎙️ #langstonhughes #gospel #blacktheatrevinylpod #theatrepodcast #blacktheater #nativity Have you seen Black Nativity in-person?

✨ CAST ANNOUNCEMENT: THE ARCHANGELS ✨ @theaudcollective is proud to introduce the protectors of our story: The Angels. In this Memphis Retelling, Michael, Gabe, and Rafael represent the Archangels, but they also represent the young Black men in our city. Too often seen by society as a problem or a threat, here they stand as the Protectors of our Neighborhood and the Protectors of Our Truth. They are the messengers on the block, keeping their “eyes open and ears low,” ensuring the story—and the Savior—arrives safely. • MICHAEL (@collin_siddell ): The leader. He carries the hard truths and guides the community through the noise. • GABE (@just_in_the_gram ): The messenger. He stands firm in his identity (“It’s Gabe now”) and ensures the decrees are heard. • RAFAEL (@kristianwrightt ): The guardian. Quietly working from the inside as Joyce’s assistant, he watches over the city and the coming miracle. They remind us that the holiest protection often looks like the brothers standing on the corner. 🗓️ December 12-14 📍 First Presbyterian Church (166 Poplar Ave) A Memphis Retelling of Black Nativity, based on Langston Hughes’ original. ✨ CAST ANNOUNCEMENT: THE CITY DWELLERS ✨ The AUD Collective is proud to introduce the heartbeat of our show: The City Dwellers. They are the voice of Memphis. They are the witnesses to the miracle. From the timid crowd singing “Listen to the Lambs” to the hilarious “No-Good Shepherds” in the field, this ensemble carries the spirit and the sound of Black Nativity. Meet the citizens of our retelling: • @tvronda is YVETTE • @ddemire is BERNIE • @iluv_cassie is GENEVA • Raven Cobins is WILMA (The one asking all the right questions!) Together, they transform the sanctuary into a bustling city street, reacting to decrees, searching for hope, and ultimately, finding the King. 🗓️ December 12-14 📍 First Presbyterian Church (166 Poplar Ave) A Memphis Retelling of Black Nativity, based on Langston Hughes’ original. ✨ CAST ANNOUNCEMENT: THE FAMILY ✨ @highlight The AUD Collective is proud to introduce the heart of our story: Mary and Joseph. In a city full of sealed decrees and "No Vacancy" signs, a young couple arrives searching for safety. • MARY (Kara Rodgers): Young, weary, but filled with faith. She trusts the journey even when the destination is unclear. Watch Kara deliver powerful lullabies that will touch your soul. • JOSEPH (Nick Love): A man carrying the weight of the world and the safety of his family. He struggles to find room in a crowded system but stands firm in the promise that God is "Preparing Me." Together, they remind us that the greatest miracles often happen in the most humble places. 🗓️ December 12-14 📍 First Presbyterian Church (166 Poplar Ave) A Memphis Retelling of Black Nativity, based on Langston Hughes' original. Against all AUD’s, we’re still in the room. This is a look of gratitude and comfort in my own skin. I look forward sharing an intergalactic revolution of Black and Queer artistry. Join us tonight at 7pm at The Circuit Playhouse for something a little different. Black II Infinity.
