Your smile, brought back to life. ✨

We enhanced this worn, discoloured smile with freehand layered composite bonding, creating symmetry, restoring shape and adding the subtle details that make teeth look real.

Every smile we create is bespoke. From softly natural to a brighter white, we choose the shade and shape together, considering your skin tone, facial features and personal preferences so the result feels right for you.

Here, a carefully chosen shade beautifully complements the patient’s deeper skin tone, creating a fresh, vibrant smile full of character.

A huge transformation and a very happy, confident patient, with no drilling or removal of natural tooth structure. 🤍

Your teeth, but better.

“So much information that I can put into practice immediately.” 🦷

That’s what Habib, a general dentist working predominantly in the NHS and looking to transition into private practice, took away from PDM Level Up for Private Dental Practice.

Over two days, he gained practical insights, actionable tips and ideas from experienced speakers who shared what genuinely works in practice.

From real-world clinical insights to patient communication, recognising red flags and learning techniques you can apply in your own practice, Level Up is designed to help you approach your next stage of dentistry with greater confidence.

And as Habib puts it, he would highly recommend it.

A room full of dental history! 🦷🥂

What happens when you get 14 past presidents of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry together around one table?

Plenty of stories, laughter, memories and a few debates about the future of dentistry!

A wonderful evening catching up with colleagues and friends who have all played a part in shaping the @thebacd and raising standards in UK dentistry.

We may have different opinions, but we share a passion for dentistry, education and helping the next generation thrive.

Missing from the table: @Carol , @drelainehalley , @tifqureshi and @drsimonchard @lukehut2001 . @donaldsloss You were missed!

Here’s to friendship, mentorship and the next generation of dental leaders.

🦷 Born without lateral incisors? 🦷

When the lateral incisors never develop, the canines often move forward into their space. They’re wider, bulkier and often more warm in shade than laterals, and their gum line sits higher, so the smile can look uneven even when the teeth are straight.

This patient came to see me years ago and just did some whitening first, but when she had a wedding planned she decided it was the right time to take the plunge and get wedding smile ready 💒👏🏼 ✨ she trusted me and picked the option I’d recommended, which yes takes longer but means the results are as perfect as we can get them 🤞🏼

1️⃣ We first did 8 months of Invisalign (this was to widen the smile, intrude the premolars and so lift the gum heights here, to extrude the UL3 slightly to lower the gum level and bring this tooth slightly more palatal so we had some room to place composite and of course correct the lower crowding and reduce the overbite slightly ✔️)

2️⃣ We finished with 8 composite veneers on the top front teeth, reshaping the canines so they read as laterals

DENTISTS: 📝

Why 8 and not 4 or 6? Treating more teeth means we can widen the arch form more - this means we can bring the line angles on the canines as close together as possible. This is also the reason why we subtly planned the canine positions to be a little more palatal, so there’s more space buccally to shape the composite to make these canines look as skinny as possible 💭 ✏️

This is a principle I’d taught in my lecture at the British Dental Conference last November, and what the final diagram hopefully illustrates 👩🏼‍🎓 for those of you that kindly attended you can finally see the ‘after’ photos 🫶🏻
