Last month I had the honour of being in a room held with extraordinary care by the Haus of Respect. Thank you to Reshma Desai & @iamchrisdesai for including me to be part of this incredible evening & for their hospitality post event.

It brought together speakers who did something profoundly brave. They stood before us and shared trauma that most people carry in silence. Stories of coercive control, domestic abuse, survival, and the long road back to self.

What stayed with me was not only the pain they had endured but the strength it takes to speak it aloud. There is a particular kind of courage in turning personal devastation into public education. It shifts the room. It shifts the people in it. It shifts what we choose to tolerate as a society.

Awareness is human. It is lived. And it is built by those willing to tell the truth even when their voice trembles.

Huge Thank you to Reshma Desai founder @thebangle_boutique, Chris Desai and Mumtaz Patel @mumtaazpatel for curating such a powerful and necessary event @uhumansproject @vayyufoundation @womentumcic

Ladies and gentlemen…
With just 6 days to go until The Haus of Respect event on 31st May, it feels like the right moment to properly introduce myself, not just as the host for the evening, but as someone whose heart is deeply woven into every single part of this journey.

Many of you know me as Reshma Desai Global Project Director of UHUMANS® 2050 and co-founder of the The VAYYU Foundation® but what many may not know is WHY this event means so much to me personally.

Over the last seven months, this has been more than just organising an event. It has been blood, sweat and tears. It has been late nights, difficult conversations, emotional moments, healing moments, and countless prayers that the right people would come together for the right reasons.

And… they did.

Every keynote speaker. Every panelist. Every survivor brave enough to share their truth. Every charity, organisation and dignitary that said yes to being part of this conversation, it has all aligned exactly as it was meant to. Ordained at the right place, at the right time.

And honestly, there has never been a more important time for these conversations than now.

To be hosting this evening alongside Mumtaz Patel founder of Womentum CIC is an absolute honour. Together, we wanted to create more than an event. We wanted to create a safe space. A room where men and women, survivors, advocates, leaders and communities could come together with honesty, compassion and respect.

Today, I can proudly say that the venue is officially at full capacity. That alone is a testament to how needed this conversation truly is.

To know that some of the country’s highest dignitaries, leading charities, change-makers and survivors of Domestic Abuse will all be in one room together, it’s overwhelming in the most humbling way.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

🎉 One Year of UHumans: Impact, Growth, and Purpose 🎉

One year ago, we started @uhumansproject with a vision — to nurture a generation that is socially responsible, well-informed, empathetic, and grounded in gratitude.
Today, we reflect on a journey that has gone beyond conversations into real impact.
Over the past year, we have:

• Provided food support to communities in need
• Created safe spaces to educate girls on menstrual health — breaking stigma and building confidence
• Guided young boys on values, responsibility, and what it means to grow into intentional men
• Engaged youth in conversations around empathy, social awareness, and global understanding

Through every session, every interaction, and every story shared, one thing has become clear:
When you invest in young people holistically, you don’t just educate — you transform lives.
@uhumansproject is not just a program.
It is a movement shaping individuals who will lead with compassion, think critically, and act with purpose.
As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to growing this impact even further.

💬 What do you believe is the most important value we should instill in young people today?
