POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I came across a reel by @thomaspilates that said, "When in doubt, return to the mat."

Lately my head is so, so full. So many exercises to master, so many machines, so many spring settings and breathing patterns to remember. And sometimes I feel a little lost in all of it.

But every challenge, every advanced movement, comes back to the same place. The mat. No springs, no straps, just me and gravity.

This is my reminder that I don't have to know everything today. Sometimes going back to the basics, and slowly building from there, is exactly what I need right now. 🤍

Little snippets of my reformer class at @thebasepilates_berlin 🫶🏻

With only 3 reformers in the studio, the classes are all semi private - allowing you to get a personalised experience (I am always happy to spontaneously throw in exercises for the muscle groups that you wish to focus on that day!), we can also provide you all the attention & hands-on adjustments that you might not receive in a bigger group setting.

If you’d like to gain more strength and mobility, while trying out different exercises from the classical repertoire - come find me on Saturdays! ❤️

🔖 Booking via Eversports, Classpass and Wellpass

Honestly, it took me a while to trust a reformer and myself.

I started my pilates journey with mat, and I was always scared to go on a reformer before. I know that if I fell on the mat, I still have the floor to support, but the machine… I was shakingly terrified on the first time, sweaty hands, thought I would have fallen and embarrassed myself in front of everyone and never came back.

But I kept going, I did it scared, and at some point it just… clicked. I stopped death gripping everything, my body felt calmer and actually started moving.

if you’ve been eyeing the reformer but too scared to try, I get that. I was there. it looks like a lot. it kinda is at first. but it gets better, I promise 🫶🏻

I teach reformer every Wednesday 7:30pm at @thebasepilates_berlin , beginner to intermediate level, just come as you are and we figure it out together 🤍

would love to see you there!

Variations in pilates are meant to challenge you or to support you. We tend to always think about pushing ourselves to the limit, forgetting sometimes the main focus of an exercise. Also, there are variations that do not align with our body structure, therefore it's useless to force ourselves into them. Listen to your body and to your instructor, always choose the variation that works fine for your body. If you are unsure ask your trainer, every exercise is meant to find you where you are.

The reason I fell in love with Pilates in 2011 wasn’t because aesthetics or how much stronger I felt. The way it made me FEEL is why I stuck with it. In a super busy world it feels luxurious to tune out the outside and be in the present moment. To finally be able to be so present is in itself a present to yourself 💙

Filmed at the beautiful @thebasepilates_berlin where you’ll find me for authentic Pilates on the reformer and mat ✨✨
