Minnesota Lakehawks 🐦 The first of my concepts for a PLL expansion to Minnesota. In this hypothetical we take the Chesapeake Bayhawks and migrate them to a new home and a newish name. In 2001 they started in Baltimore, moved to Washington DC, and their last 10 years were in Chesapeake. What’s one more? Primary Logo - The idea stays relatively the same. A hawk head with a lacrosse head body. Major updates I made are the stick head becomes slightly more abstract to make the wings more prominent. In this case, the bottom wing is holding the lacrosse ball where it would sit in the stick. Colors - This is close to what they wore in Maryland but more reflect the ‘89 Timberwolves to better fit the state, but these are also two colors not currently seen in the PLL. Lots of navy, and the Redwoods use more of a forest green. Primary and Clash Uniforms - Both feature a lightning/wave pattern. Both are “triple mismatch”. The sleeves are the most important feature with the wave pattern creating what’s known as the “Minnesota Stripe”. A stripe style used by most professional sports teams here. Native American Heritage - Using the same design style as the league did in 2024, this would be more of a templated thing that all teams use. “Mni Šota Makoce” on the side of the helmet. Throwback Weekend - Biggest thing here is the college mascot style hawk logo. Being a “lakehawk” he gets to use the sailor’s cap and scarf. I hate Minnetonka, but I think we’ll call him Skipper. Do you think Minnesota should get a PLL team? #PremierLacrosseLeague #PLL #Lacrosse #Concept #Minnesota #Lakehawks #Hawks

🦅 2002/2003 Baltimore Bayhawks MLL Cascade C-Pro Helmet — This is one of the more iconic helmets in MLL history primarily because the Bayhawks and the Long Island Lizards faced off in the MLL championship during the first three seasons of the league. The 2001 helmet was silver with navy visor and chin piece. They quickly switched to the royal accent in 2002 and wore it through the 2005 Tommy Hilfiger season. In 2006, they switched back to a silver/navy/navy CPX. To me this helmet scheme is synonymous with names like Gary Gait, Shawn Nadelen, Greg Cottrano, Tom Marachek, Kip Fulks, Paul Cantabene etc etc…they were awesome 💥 #lacrossecollector #laxgearzone

🦅 2018 Chesapeake Bayhawks MLL Cascade S Helmet — this is actually one of my favorite MLL helmets of all time. The aesthetics and attention to detail are unlike any other MLL helmet. Notice the hawk heads on the visor trimmed in neon green, paired with the full side panel wings and classic navy/grey helmet scheme. A little about the final MLL seasons… In 2019, the MLL rebranded with a new red/white/blue league logo. In 2020, they brought back the Barrage, so 4 of the teams in the 2020 league were from the original 6 from 2002 (Cannons, Lizards, Barrage, Bayhawks…Outlaws and Hammerheads were the other two). 2020 was the leagues final season before being bought out and merged with the PLL. I sincerely hope the PLL brings this brand back at some point...with neon of course. #laxhelmetcollector #lacrossecollector
