If you’re looking for the perfect evening out, let me introduce you to Pittsboro, NC — small town, big taste. We started at @thebeaglebar for apps and cocktails (I had the Rescue and the Minted Fitzgerald and loved both!) — the warmed olives were incredible! Then we popped down the street to @west.end.pittsboro for dinner … and a few more drinks. The chicken piccata and gnocchi were heavenly, as were our drinks. It’s a social district so now you can walk around with your drinks if you’d like. 10/10 will be back to both spots.

Looking to turn a new leaf in 2026? Or are you just feeling burnt out from holiday drinking? No matter the reason, there are plenty of ways to do #DryJanuary in Chatham County, with many of our bars, restaurants, and craft beverage makers offering a wide variety of tasty “free-spirited” beverages.

Several of our breweries, bars, and bottle shops carry a selection of zero-proof beer and mocktails, including @HopsAndBerryPittsboro and @HouseOfHops_Pittsboro. Visit @bmcbrewingco and explore their Dry January menu featuring non-alcoholic creations made with their signature “Hop2O” Hop Water. Or, venture across the way to @FairGameBevCo for thoughtful mocktails crafted with seasonal, housemade syrups and shurbs. You’ll also find artisanal sodas, THCA seltzers, and a rotating selection of small-batch Kombucha on tap.

This Friday (January 16, 2026, 5pm-8pm), join @PBOFinallyFridays for a fun Mocktail Tour and Art Walk! Savor signature concoctions from downtown Pittsboro bars, restaurants, and shops while browsing collections from local artists. Participating businesses include:

@AromaticRoasters (they will have their coffee truck set up near the Pittsboro and Chatham County Welcome Center).
@TheBeagleBar.
@CactusCowgirlPlants.
@CityTapBar.
@DohertysPittsboro.

In 2023, @RootCellarChapelHill Chef @Cuni_Verse launched @Feed_Well_Fridges, a food security initiative that transforms commercial food waste into free, healthy meals for Chatham County families.

What began with a single fridge and a passion for local food systems has evolved into an impressive operation. On average, her team rescues 10,000 lbs of food and delivers 3,000 microwavable meals every month!

Over the last year, Chef Sera Cuni has received numerous recognitions for Feed-Well Fridges, including the Governor’s Medallion Award for Volunteer Service and a spot on a special superhero-themed episode of The @FoodNetwork show “Chopped”.

Most recently, she was selected among 16 other culinary leaders for the 29th James @BeardFoundation Chef Bootcamp for Policy and Change®. This prestigious program mobilizes culinary leaders from across the country in support of local food systems.

If you’re looking to show your support while enjoying a great meal provided by some of Chatham County’s most talented chefs, bakers, and craft beverage makers, mark your calendars for Feed-Well’s Pay-What-You-Can Community Feast at @ChathamOaksFarm.
