MEET THE DIRECTOR:

Starting simply in the world of background filmmaking, Ben Beauchamp has always prioritized the art of film and the camaraderie of like-minded people over just about anything else. Being largely self-taught, Ben found solace in the simple fun of picking up a camera with friends and making something cool. Over the years, this slowly transformed from backyard filmmaking to well-established narratives as both his skill and network of talented filmmakers increased.

Today, Ben is a multi-award-winning film director, working on projects of all manner of genres and styles. Sharing his work across the country and spreading his love for the art. Most recently, Ben was honored with winning the best film award in the Savannah 48-hour film competition and will bring his film “The Silo” to compete internationally in Filmapalooza in Curaçao. With his growing presence and recognition in the Southeastern film scene, Ben is always trying to continue his work with new and exciting projects.

Largely focusing on original and out-of-the-box style filmmaking, it’s always a challenge to make every script stand out as much as possible while still bringing excellence and quality. Ben has always leaned towards making an audience think and feel. Never wanting to undermine the intelligence of his viewers. Now with a new script ahead of him, the question is posed of how to bring that mindset to it. With an incredible script ready to go, the task of turning it into a masterpiece of a film becomes all the easier, and he looks forward to bringing his A-Game to this new and exciting project.

Tryon truly holds a special place in my heart. From the filmmakers, the town, the passion, the everything. I feel nothing but gratitude to this festival.

Thank you to everyone who came out and watched Are We Just Flowers?, Inflatable Dragons, and Temporia. It meant so much to be able to bring all of them to a festival I respect so much.

Just this year, I had so many full circle moments that have reminded me how far I've come since my first time here, and just as equally it reminded me how much more there is to do next. But most importantly, it's a festival that gives me so much gratitude for what I have now, and I'm just so thankful for this great community of filmmakers that just keep getting better.

Thank you again for everything @tryoninternationalfilmfest and already looking forward to next year!

The road to completion for this project has been a hell of a ride, and we’re technically still not done (editing, color grading, some additional photography for promotional material), but the fun stuff’s all over for now.

Special thank you to a great collaborator and a better friend, Payson ( @hawk_9904 ). Funny enough, when Payson approached me to work on this new passion project (initially solely as BTS photo+video), I actually gave him a tentative “no,” even though I liked the script, because I didn’t think I could afford to take any days off of work. My gut told me that, financial crisis aside, I gave the wrong answer. By that point, we had worked together many times, but we had yet to collaborate as producers. I called him some weeks later and said I’d take the time off if I could produce this new project with him, and I also told him his graphic designer – or lack of one – sucked (this actually happened lol), and that I’d really like to lead the film’s visuals in some capacity.

Thank you for entrusting me with as much as you have, Payson.

Here’s a token of my affection to the cast and crew of Project Static.
