Read this before you send another application. 👀

Put yourself in the hiring manager’s seat. What are they actually looking for?

❌ Not someone who can tick every single box.

They’re looking for a PRIME candidate.

Here are 5 things you need to show them:

P — PROOF | Can you do the job?
Don’t just list responsibilities. Show what you’ve delivered, improved, built, changed or solved.

R — RELEVANCE | Do you understand what they need?
Look beyond the job description. What problem are they trying to solve, and how does your experience match what they need?

I — IMPACT | What will you bring to the role and team?
What will be better because you’re there? Talk about the difference you’ve made before and what you could bring next.

M — MOTIVATION | Why do you want THIS role?
Why this company? Why this opportunity? Be clear about why it’s the right next move for your career.

E — EAGERNESS TO LEARN | Are you willing to learn what you don’t know?
You won’t know everything. Show curiosity, adaptability and a willingness to keep growing.

And remember:

Don’t reject yourself before the hiring manager has the chance to decide.

Too many talented women focus on the 20% they’re missing instead of recognising the 80% they already bring.

You don’t need to be the perfect candidate.

You need to show them why you’re a a strong one 🚀

♻️ Save this for your next application and share it with a woman looking for her next opportunity.

We wish more women knew THIS about mentorship… 👀

Having a mentor is one thing.

Knowing how to use that relationship to accelerate your career is another.

The right mentor can spot the gaps you’re missing, uncover strengths you’ve overlooked, challenge what’s holding you back and help you see opportunities you might never have considered.

But here’s the question:

Are you having the conversations that allow them to do that?

In today’s Cajigo newsletter, we’re giving you 3 ways to make mentorship work harder for your career.

This is the IMPACT Edition 🚀

📩 Subscribe today so you don’t miss it when it lands tonight.

Your next breakthrough might already be there. You just need someone to help you see it 💜

The Bone Door has officially been out for a week in the U.K.! I can’t believe it!

I had a little private event at the wonderful @goldsborobooks to celebrate the launch a week ago. It included a tattoo station, goody bags, Hop, Skully, a signing book and of course LOTS OF CAKE!

It was such a lovely way to celebrate the release of the book and so nice to see so many friends and family in one place! Thank you everyone for coming!

Much love and thanks to @ellyishstudios for these photos!

Let’s debunk some common misconceptions about women in tech 🚀

❌ Myth 1: Women aren’t interested in technology

Truth: This couldn’t be further from reality! Over the last 10 years, the number of women applying to IT courses has increased by 82%. Technology is integral to many women’s lives, showing they’re not just interested—they’re invested.

❌ Myth 2: Women lack the skills and abilities for tech jobs

Truth: Skills are not determined by gender. If there’s a skills gap, it’s often due to a lack of encouragement and outdated stereotypes, not a lack of capability or interest.

❌ Myth 3: Women aren’t competitive enough

Truth: While competitiveness varies among individuals, it’s not a gendered trait. Pioneers like Ada Lovelace and Hedy Lamarr shattered tech ceilings, proving that women in tech can be just as competitive and successful.

❌ Myth 4: Women aren’t committed to their careers long-term

Truth: Ambition and commitment are universal traits. McKinsey’s Women in the Workplace 2023 report found that three in four young women now aspire to senior positions, marking a radical change in how leadership is viewed by younger generations.

✋We encourage every person and every organisation to challenge these stereotypes

👉 It motivates more women to pursue tech careers but also enhances work culture, sparks innovation, and improves overall results

👉 The future of innovation depends on it!

We are looking forward to working with 100+ mentors, busting some myths and supporting Cohort 3 of the Cajigo 100 Women in Tech 16-week accelerator which starts in October 🙌🏼

If your company would like to remove barriers for women in tech and sponsor our impactful work, then drop us an email at team@cajigo.com
