This is my final BITE video post:

These last 2 months have been EXTREMELY challenging and have tested me to the core and more. Dance Dance Revolution has saved my life and has given me something to work towards. I don’t have much opportunity to play DDR itself because I don’t have access unless I drive 4hrs or go to a convention (which is why I post StepmaniaX videos). For those of you who don’t know my story, I started playing when I was 11 in November 2002 (I’m 35 now). My best childhood friend who got me into the game died on May 25, 2013. This game keeps me clean and sober and I can honor my fallen friend by not “using vices” while playing. This particular song (The Legend of Max Expert) has been a source of redemption for me since getting clean and sober. This song also means a lot to me. Usually with my “non-tournament missions” I just flag some random person down who’s by the machine to play with me. It takes a lot for me to ask someone for support in these missions. By the grace of God, I found a beautiful soul to join me in this endeavor.

While I didn’t have the outcome I hoped for aka I crapped out again (no more doing this right after a tourney/on the last day of an event lol), I’m not ready to give up and will continue my health journey goals of staying under 200lbs and more. It’s been over a decade since I cleared this song, but I will do whatever I can to train and do it again... even better than in 2016.

I know I can do this. And I am extremely grateful for everyone’s love and support in my epic journey of self-impovement, self-discovery, realizing my worth!

Extra thank you dear friend for your loveliness as always 🥰

I’ll get you next time... but for now, back to the training lands for me 😎

Beast in the East (BITE) Video 2: Dance Rush Stardom - Gradius Remix - Normal Level 8

BITE by far was the most positive dance game tournament/major event for any activity I participate in at all period. This even surpassed Magfest (2026) for me and that was at the very top of my list until this past weekend.

The Gradius Remix has been my goto song for “the everything”. If there was a Dance Rush tournament this year, this song would have been my choice instead of doing another level 7 (10 is the highest level and in all the times I competed in this game I only have used level 7, which is generally the lowest level you can do for a tournament). My overall confidence, especially since getting and staying clean and sober, has been on a major upswing.

BITE has been the beginning/entryway of a new stage of my life: the Rebs Rebuilding Phase. My mental health was at its peak and was at the top of its game/the best it had been in a LONG time if not at all ever to be honest. Since returning to reality post-convention, I’ve felt much more driven to propel my life forward and only allow people into my life who will treat me how I deserve, show me (and others) love, and have the desire to better themselves and grow (with me). A beautiful soul I met at the event and another beautiful soul who I met at a support group pretty recently also (both who are ironically poets like me lol) have been the key people I needed to meet to show me where I belong and where I need to keep heading towards.

Thank you to everyone who made my BITE special. Stay tuned for more posts from me 🥰

Not pictured: me ending up on the ground after the video (due to leg cramps/exhaustion/end of my stamina threshold lol) 🤣🙈☠️

FIRST GAMEPLAY REEL!
Had the pleasure of competing at @thebitegaming pro bracket this year against some insane players. Here’s a highlight of my final song against the 3rd place player and close friend of mine @amirelad_piu 🐊
For those curious, I placed 5th overall :D

Here’s another video with the comment box formatted better. This was from my tournament and recorded on 7-19-26. I complete internationally and placed in this event. I can also play using all 10 panels by myself (this one was 6 across but I’m still playing on both sides by myself).

To those of who think I have no talent, why don’t you try?

To those of you who think I’m unemployed, I have a computer science degree and get paid at a fulltime job to do photography, article writing, webmaster stuff, social media, podcasts, and more and get paid as much as I did at my software developer job

To those of you who have other nonsense to say, have fun. I’m still going to enjoy my adventures anyway! Also maybe you should get a hobby too!

I’ll enjoy my loveliness and eat popcorn to whatever lameness y’all come up with. I think it’s sad anyone has to resort to putting people down for doing something they love and being good at it. There’s no point in bullying. Why not spread love?

This world is a mess anyway and there’s no need to make it even darker. Your words mean nothing. In my 23.5 years of playing these games I haven’t received a single negative comment in person at all ever. These games save my life. These games keep me sane. These games keep me sober. It may be a very niche game, but it is still relevant and I will even be dancing in my grave 🌈

Thank you for your love and support on my journey to bettering myself! I have nothing but love and kindness to give. And nothing is going to stop me… even if the world implodes in itself I will find a way!

This video probably sums up how BITE was for me (I have a bunch of other ones lol):

I REALLY needed this event. BADLY. I was extremely concerned my mental health would get in the way, but this was the best I’ve felt mentally all year, especially in the last month and a half. My mental health did NOT bother me at all. Not even once. By Saturday night I was covering myself in massive amounts of rainbow tears. The (social media-less) lovely soul behind the camera received almost all of them lol 😱

The best part of this event was that I didn’t feel tempted to resort to my vices. I don’t usually pull out my “magic charms” despite my excitement of being extremely proud of myself for doing my first arrow button game dance tournament completely sober. I blew myself away. I even took a match off someone who was at my skill level. For even more good news, I got my redemption from last year where there was a song where the pad and I did NOT get along and I ended up not clearing it due to said pad issues and this year I cleared it AND won the song.

I am extremely grateful to have gotten to attend. I will keep practicing and see what I can do the next tourney/event. With that being said, I’ll see you nerds soon 🥰
