CURE GABA-A | Ironman Ottawa

Tomorrow, follow Bib #140

https://sportstats.one/event/ironman-canada-ottawa/leaderboard/145933

Brian will swim, bike and run 140.6 miles for his daughter, Raina, his wife Julia, and all the gain of function kids out there counting on this CURE GABA-A treatment.

And as parents, waiting is the hardest part.

The science is moving. The treatment is being tested by Grann Pharmaceuticals & Neucyte. We are closer than we have ever been. But without funding, the research cannot keep moving.

So tomorrow, Brian is giving everything he has for 140.6 miles in the hope that we will rally behind him.

Follow Bib #140. Donate for Raina. Donate for every child still waiting.

Brian will do the miles.

Please help us fund the science. 💙

CURE GABA-A | Running for Raina

This Sunday, Brian will race 140.6 miles at Ironman Ottawa.

He’s not racing for a medal. He’s racing for children with gain-of-function GABAAR disorders who are waiting for a treatment.

Today, CURE GABA-A has a real opportunity to move our gain-of-function mRNA therapy forward—but research only advances if we can fund the next milestone.

For families living with a gain-of-function variant, this isn’t someone else’s research.

This is your child’s future.

Every donation helps us move one step closer to a treatment that could change lives. Every dollar tells researchers to keep going. Without funding, progress slows. With funding, we move closer to the finish line.

While Brian trains and pushes his body through one of the toughest endurance races in the world, his wife Julia and their family are making sacrifices at home because they believe these children deserve a future with better treatment options.

Now we’re asking our community to stand beside them.

If your child has a gain-of-function GABAAR variant—or you know a family who does—please consider making a donation today and sharing this fundraiser with others.

Brian is running the miles. Together, we can fund the science.

Every gift, no matter the size, brings us closer to the day when families hear, “We have a treatment.”

Donate today and help us get gain-of-function mRNA therapy across the finish line.

CURE GABA-A | Athletic Fundraising Team

Calling all athletes!

Brian LaFleur is running, swimming, and cycling to raise funds and awareness for CURE GABA-A in honor of his daughter, Raina.

Brian has already shown what is possible through endurance fundraising, raising support, building awareness, and helping move the mission forward with the help and support of his wife Julia.

Now, we are ready to grow.

We are building Team CURE GABA-A; our athletic fundraising team for runners, swimmers, cyclists, walkers, racers, and anyone ready to move for a cure.

Brian will be helping lead and support our endurance team as we build out athletic fundraising campaigns across the community. Are you able to help us build out this sector?

You do not need to be a professional athlete. You just need the heart to help.

Today isn’t just an opening… it’s the start of something bigger 🤍

I’m beyond grateful to be trusted to manage our new @popeyes_niagara location right here in my neighborhood. After years in this community, being able to lead, grow, and do what I love every single day… this one hits different. Dream come true.

To my new team—this is our foundation. We’re building something strong, disciplined, and built to last.

To my old team—thank you for the growth, the support, and the real friendships. You helped shape me, and I don’t take that lightly.

To my friends, family, and this community—I can’t wait to see you all. Come be part of this with us.

New chapter. New team. Same drive.

Let’s work 🤍. #letsgetit #popeyessupplements #healthjourney #grateful #healthylifestyle

CURE GABA-A | Running for Raina

Brian just crossed the finish line of the Rome Marathon, but this race was about so much more than the miles.
He ran to raise awareness and funds for CURE GABA-A Variants, pushing forward the search for treatments and a cure for kids like Raina, who lives with a GABRB3 mutation.

Every step he took was for her. For progress. For hope.

Because families like Raina’s are still waiting, and they shouldn’t have to wait forever.

Join us in supporting this mission.

Together, we can turn awareness into action and bring us closer to a cure.
