My first Carry Optics match in IDPA - 1st Place finish

Back to back weekend matches took a physical toll on me. I got home and didn't leave the horizontal position til Monday morning 😂 running the Masterpiece Arms DS9 Hybrid. The ported barrel shoots SO flat it's crazy. 2 hammer follow malfunctions and a last stage brain fart cost me on the overall but I've fixed the sear spring issue... we'll see about the brain and body fatigue.

I've always shot irons, and picking up a red dot is a major adjustment to make but we're getting there! 2 MAJOR championships coming up to prepare for

PM Dry Fire! Two A Day! Tonight I worked the extend press and prep drill. I worked the drill Center, right, left at 5 yards all the way back to 14 yards performing the 14 yard sent two times once to the body the second time to the head. Each yard marker receives 10 reps for a total of 110. Although it was a short session this evening, it was chock-full of Great Grill fundamentals, trigger press, and prep, and sight picture based on what I need to see at those given distances. Outstanding session! #dryfire #shootidpa #idpa #gunlife #teamlivefire #champion #practice #shooting #tactical #firearms #freedom #guns of instagram #gun #pistols #gunlife #merica #secondamendment #everydaycarry #outdoors #pewpew #shootingrange #firearmstraining #firearmscommunity #firearminstructor #teamlivefire

First match with my new Sig P320 Max. Second time ever shooting carry optics. Shot a 100.27 for all 8 stages. Classified as Master Class for now, but I’m very close to making Grand Master. Not bad for my first time shooting it

AM Dry Fire! I celebrated this weekend’s victory by getting back to work in speed mode! In the spirit of success leading to success I was able to to lower my speed mode 6 Reload 6 from 2.74 down to 2.70! It was the only think I worked and the lowered reps didn’t happen until the range of about 25 to 35. It’s like I had to just keep presenting this issue of not being as fast as the par time and eventually my body and brain got the message and just did everything sooner! I also saw things just a little more clearly in speed mode and that is also an exciting new development… much more to follow in that…. I’ll be posting drill specific info in on my Live Fire Group… see you there!!!#dryfire #shootidpa #idpa #gunlife #teamlivefire #champion #practice #shooting #tactical #firearms #freedom #guns of instagram #gun #pistols #gunlife #merica #secondamendment #everydaycarry #outdoors #pewpew #shootingrange #firearmstraining #firearmscommunity #firearminstructor #teamlivefire

AM Dry Fire! Five drills all related to things that want or need work including a new twist in the Ascending Oar time drill where every stage had a different order of both POCs and target angagement. That with movement, odd number target engagement and some standards work it made for an outstanding session! #dryfire #shootidpa #idpa #gunlife #teamlivefire #champion #practice #shooting #tactical #firearms #freedom #guns of instagram #gun #pistols #gunlife #merica #secondamendment #everydaycarry #outdoors #pewpew #shootingrange #firearmstraining #firearmscommunity #firearminstructor #teamlivefire

PM Dry Fire! Two A Day! Tonight I worked in speed mode on the moving reload drill, dropping the part time down to .96, I also worked my movement drill lowering that part time down to 4.22 and also had success with my six wheeler six drill, lowering that to 2.66. The thing I love about par times. Is that given enough time given enough reps given enough effort given enough thought they can be lowered. #dryfire #shootidpa #idpa #gunlife #teamlivefire #champion #practice #shooting #tactical #firearms #freedom #guns of instagram #gun #pistols #gunlife #merica #secondamendment #everydaycarry #outdoors #pewpew #shootingrange #firearmstraining #firearmscommunity #firearminstructor #teamlivefire
