One year of Tade for Tomorrow Foundation. One year of believing that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and dream.

Earlier this month, we marked one year of the Tade for Tomorrow Foundation with our biggest outreach yet, providing children in Southern Nigeria with school supplies and hygiene products to support them on their educational journey.

We wanted to ensure that as the children headed into the summer holidays, they had the tools and resources they needed to continue learning, exploring and staying engaged beyond the classroom. Because learning does not only happen at school, it happens everywhere.

What started as a vision has grown into a community of people committed to making a difference, one child at a time.

To everyone who has donated, volunteered, supported or believed in our mission; thank you.

With you, we will continue to educate children today so they can have a bright future tomorrow.

Another great recommendation from @thebookalert and I’m passing on this rec to everyone else! I loved the exploration of addiction and alcohol in this book and I really enjoyed all the characters and their back stories!

✨️ Friendship appreciate post ✨️

These last few weeks have been a masterclass in being overwhelmed.
An emotional rollercoaster coupled with being sick and having to take a step out from hosting my book club so I didn't spontaneously combust!

And then here comes @thebookishmindset to remind me of how amazing friendships with women truly are.
To have people thinking highly of you behind your back is the greatest blessing.
I honestly feel like I must have been an actual angel in a past life, to have friends this beautiful in this one.

I know I've been missing from insta for a few weeks (God Bless those scheduled posts) but see this post as my return to booksta - because I needed to show you guys the gorgeous gifts Nikki sent me.

PHENOMENAL WRITING!

Oh man, there is something to be said for books like this that make you consider our society and how we raise our daughters; the things we inadvertently expose them to and the confidence we strip them of before they are old enough to understand the importance of having a sense of self-worth.
It feels like a guide to parents in some ways lol

The storytelling is honest and immersive, raw, vulnerable and so heart-felt.

There were moments that literally had my heart racing and getting the story from both Mimi and Abi's perspectives was a brilliant narrative choice.

It's the kind of book you start reading and think 'ok, let's see how this goes' and then before you know it, you are swept up in the very real drama (which is gritty and justified; it's not just thrown in there for the sake of it) and the characters are all you can think about.
As someone who worked with teenagers for over a decade, this was such an insightful and neccessary perspective on county lines.

I recommend this one to literally ANYONE and that's coming from me - someone who isn't a huge fan of contemporary fiction, but I couldn't put it down and it is WELL WORTH using an audio credit for because that added layers to the story.

Emotionally, this book was everything I didn't even realise I wanted from it and more!

Super grateful to my bookish community for helping me pick the 26 books I need to read in 2026! It was hard to pick just 26 creators to help with recommendations but I reached out to these 26 because I love their reviews and I knew they would give me a wide range of books to get through this year and they did not disappoint! We have books that I already own, books I’ve had my eyes on and books I haven’t heard of across all different genres and I can’t wait to get stuck into each one of these! 🤩

SPOILER-FREE THOUGHTS
Not to mention that making the FMC and her mother black, changed the ENTIRE message of the show because of the stuff that had taken place on their past.
It added layers that desperately needed to be addressed but weren't because there was so source material for it 🤷

D E C E M B E R B O O K C L U B M E E T U P ✨🎄

Super late in posting this because I’ve been too busy having fun this Christmas to care about regular posting 🤪🥳.

Anyway, absolutely loved our December meet up! Thank you @thebookalert for always organising and being the best hostess. It was so nice to do a creative activity too and everyone made such a huge effort 🖼️.

Looks like I’ve still retained my artistic talents from my secondary school days 🎨😉. I guess you’ll never really lose a gift. I say I’m going to nurture it and practice every year and then reading takes over 😅.

I ADORED Cursed Daughters; I thought it was an excellent read and I gave it 4.5 stars. I will be sharing my book review in the new year so keep your eyes peeled.

Here’s to the next five years of book club - never ceases to amaze me that we’ve kept this going for so long ladies, truly incredible! 😍
