I can't wait until she is healed!

Her name was Laverie Vallee, known by her stage name Charmion. She was a trapeze-ist and strongwoman. She lived from 1875 to 1949 and was from Sacramento, CA.

She, and others like her, challenged societal norms of what women could do and be. They paved the way for women to be able to take up space.

Thank you @thebracamonster for this amazing piece of artwork!! I love her!!

IN BLOOM 7 🌺 2025 ✨

Hosted by @shannonmarlin and Michael Sylvestre at one of Midtown Sacramento’s original creative spaces - a gallery that supported #Sacramento’s #secondsaturday and uplifted muralists - long before it became mainstream. 🎨 💗

Michael also developed the wire-based, nail-free hanging system that inspired many of the gallery installation methods still used today. 🫡

This annual event is curated through the vision of @soytiger - artist, father, and community organizer Raul Mejia - who continues to bring together artists from all walks of life for an inspiring and welcoming celebration of creativity.

🫶

In 2025, @jennponciart joined the curatorial team and helped expand participation by bringing in experienced painters and art educators from San Diego, Oakland, and Paradise, California.

Featured Musicians include @itsleonwillis and the Mongoose 🎶

From children to elders, tattooers to watercolorists, graffiti writers to retired teachers - artists and supporters from every background came together to celebrate community through art, music, and poetry. 💜

You’re invited to the next showcase!

Saturday, May 30 ✨3-6pm ☀️

My big dumb face but it was a special moment for me to show @johnromitajr his Dad’s artwork of Amazing Spiderman 50 on my very strong arm while @sacanimeofficial this last weekend. I got a signed print, I gifted him a NYC hat.

Favorite comic book cover for me. Tattooed by my brother from another @thebracamonster
