SEVEN HORSES. A BATTLE FOR JUSTICE. A FIGHT THAT REFUSES TO BE SILENCED.

When the powerful take, who dares to challenge them? When the law is tested, will justice hold the reins?

What began with the seizure of his horses has evolved into a far-reaching confrontation over constitutional protections and the fundamental question of whether justice can be denied when the government takes what belongs to you.

This saga of @brannuhorse is far from over. #Brannu #GovernmentOverreach #UrbanCowboy #Constitution #PropertyRights

90 DAYS. ONE AWESOME HORSE. AN INCREDIBLE RESULT.

Today in Conyers, Georgia, Zorro earned his STER designation and Reserve Champion honors in the IBOP as well as his AA Sport Predicate at his Friesian keuring.

To say I’m proud of this horse would be an understatement.

When Zorro arrived in my care just 90 days ago, we had a tremendous amount of work ahead of us. Getting him to this point required a complete commitment to his conditioning, development, and preparation. There were long days, challenges, and plenty of moments that demanded patience and a little creativity.

But I believed in this horse and what he was capable of accomplishing.

Today, he delivered.

I’ve spent much of my life working with horses, and developing a Friesian stallion to earn his Ster designation has been a goal of mine since I first became involved with the breed 20 plus years ago. To accomplish that with Zorro, particularly given where we started just three months ago, makes this achievement especially rewarding.

I’m incredibly grateful to Rashaan Evans and his family for trusting me with Zorro and giving me the opportunity to develop and present him. Their confidence in me throughout this process has meant a great deal, and I’m thrilled we could share this result together.

A special thank you to my coach, Karen Lipp, for her guidance, encouragement, and continued investment in my development as a horseman. And to my good friend Alex Gibson, whose extensive knowledge of the Friesian breed and willingness to serve as a second set of eyes throughout this process were invaluable. Having people whose experience and judgment you respect makes all the difference.

As horsemen, we spend countless hours doing work that most people never see. The early mornings, the conditioning, the setbacks, the adjustments, and the constant pursuit of improvement. Occasionally, we get a day when all of that work comes together.

Today was one of those days.

Zorro, you made every minute worth it.

I’ve never been very good at just liking something.

If I love something, I want to understand it. If I understand it, I want to get good at it. And eventually, inevitably, I want to make something out of it. And most importantly, I want to share it with people. Because, if I love it this much they may too.

For a long time, I thought that made for a pretty chaotic résumé.

Looking backward, I’m not so sure.

I think I’ve always wanted the same things: to make stuff, tell stories, compete, explore, meet people, learn from them, and—when I find something I love—become part of it.

Maybe there weren’t a dozen different versions of Adam after all.

Maybe I’ve just been the same weird kid this whole time.

Still making stuff.
Still finding things to love.
Still wanting to be part of it…
