Have you been staycationing like us this Summer? If you’re looking for something to do, I would highly recommend a self-guided art tour and here’s a little local inspiration for you… 🎥🌞

You may have followed along on Stories over the weekend but if not here’s part one of our day trip round #Histon and #Cambridge!

On Thursday we started out with a delicious brunch at @histonstationhouse — great fuel for the art adventure ahead of us.

We then wandered down to @thebridgehof, a legal graffiti spot since 2017, which is just opposite along the guided busway.

Really love seeing how it changes over time and I spotted a paste up piece by @_social_sniper_ which thanks to the power of social media I have been able to request a print of!

The next stop on our trip was a little detour back to the sculpture we noticed on our way in. Having grown up regularly passing by the late Tony Hillier’s #HistonSculptureGarden there’s always a sense of excitement when I see one that’s new to me.

It was sad to see that the sculpture garden is no longer there in it’s entirety but I have been reading up as to why and earlier this year his wife Joan Hillier made the decision to re-home a number of them.

What’s more? There’s several now in-situ around Histon and Impington villages as part of a new public art trail. I’m going to plan a visit soon — do let me know if you’d to join me, there was some interest when I asked on Stories so I’ll announce a choice of dates soon for a casual meet-up and small group tour around the trail.

I was quick to grab my camera to take a shot of another one of the sculpture’s as we were heading home… can you spot it in the Reel? 🐪👀

So much more to share with you from Thursday — keep an eye out for @cowsaboutcambridge @motionsicknessproject and @grand_arcade discoveries! If you’ve got any tips for other great days out around #Cambridgeshire or just beyond the border let us know in the comments… 👇
