Memories🥹✨ We had just gotten back from one of our classes at BADA and it was lunch time. Oxford was experiencing a “heatwave” it was like 86 degrees chile lol
This isn’t nearly everyone but I love all the faces in this memory. But I’m sharing this today for one person and one person only. Malik James (with a mouth full of food lol). We share a birthday and though we can’t tell him with our lips anymore I hope that seeing him in this moment, a time where we were all having some of the best moments of our lives, we can be comforted in knowing that even though the physical manifestation of our loved one is no more he still lives on in our hearts and minds and thankfully we have pictures and videos to help bring that to “life”.

Also Jussten I love you soo much! 😂 And you were right 🙂‍↔️

Words and not express the joy I felt this weekend. First, I have been deceiving my sister telling her that I am going straight to NYC to meet her.
But in reality, I was going to DC to ride the train with her to NYC...surprise!!

We were going to NY to see Malik's @malik.james.33 dearest friend, Abigail C. Onwunali @abigailonwunali perform on New York Broadway production of Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. Malik would have been so proud of her. He would have done the same and support her anyway necessary. BTW...She was Really Good. The whole play was excellent.

As I walked backstage, I see Abigail. Then, I see Malik's tribe!! @abigailonwunali, Anthony Grace,
@rachelsimwebb, Javaun Butler, javaunryalbutler.com, @siaramontoya, Aaron Anderson, @vintrescott, @giovanna, @thebuilder (please let me know if I missed anyone).

Seeing them, feeling the love, and the energy, it felt like Malik was with us. I really needed that.
I was thinking I am celebrating Abigail (I brought her flowers, MJFAF hats, and my sister bought her shirt) and they turned around and gave me a beautiful bracelet with Malik's birthday on it, beautiful flowers, and too many cupcakes! Karma paid me back, but in a good way. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! that I was able to meet Taraji P. Henson @tarajiphenson, Cedric the Entertainer @cedtheentertainer and Tony Award Joshua Boone. I expressed to Taraji my need for her guidance
for the MJFAF Mental Health. I heard she had other plans, but I was so grateful she took the time out to speak to me before her next event. It was truly an honor. She has definitely a wonderful advocate for her own Foundation, Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation, borislhensonfoundation.org

When I was small my mother would cut the shrubs in front of our house at the start of winter, til they were these short exposed stumps. And it wasn’t till the spring when they burst to life more full and persistent that I understood the transformation they’d undergone.
