Samuel (@blitzambassador) Bazawule began his career as a music artist in the late 2000s, he has published four studio albums and was awarded the Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Contemporary Music. While attending Achimota School, he amassed awards for his visual art style, later expanding to the world of Hip-Hop after his oldest brother played Public Enemy's LP "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back". Blitz drew his love for history and social observation while researching and writing historically loaded rhymes that he later became famous in school for.

Blitz graduated from Achimota in 2000. Ghanian Ace producer Hammer of the Last Two recognized Blitz and asked him to come to the studio after impressing him with his skills. His verse for the song "Deeba", honored him with 2000 Ghana Music Awards' "Best New Artist" accolade. A year later, he moved to the United States to study at Kent State University in Ohio, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. A three years later,Blitz self released his first album "Soul Rebel under his "Blitz" moniker. he moved to NY and recorded the "Double Consciousness" album and released "Stereotype" which draws from his diverse musical background. He formed "The Embassy Ensemble" in orderto achieve the live sound he was looking for and established his label "Embassy MVMT" which is now connected to The Roots' community initiative Okayplayer.

Blitz's career continued to soar from being featured in magazines such as Beyond Race's "50 Emerging Artists" in 2009, the 2015 Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Contemporary Music and released his forth studio album "Diasporadical and directed it's companion short film "Diasporical Trilogia" that features installments set in Accra, New York City and Salvador, Bahla".

Fresh off his directorial outing with @theburialofkojo, @cherishthedayown, the Grammy Nominated @blackiskingfilm and his upcoming adaptation of @bwaycolorpurple musical for @amblin, acclaimed musician, painter and filmmaker @blitzambassador takes his visionary talents to the world of literature with his debut novel "The Scent of Burnt Flowers"

Set in the mid 60s at the peak of the civil rights movement. Scent is the story of Melvin and Bernadette, a black couple who end up on the run after an incident in a dark parking lot at Otto's Diner in Auburn, Alabama turns for the worst, leaving them with blood on their hands. With their finances in ruin, pack passports, the couple go incognito as a pastor and his wife with a hidden secret. To avoid being apprehended, they travel to Ghana to seek asylum with the help of Melvin's college friend who is also the sitting President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah. Enter Agent Hughes, an F.B.I. Agent hot on the trail to bring them Mel and Bernadette back to face prosecution in the states.

Making his debut as a literary author, Blitz brilliantly blends the use of a romantic love story and mixing it with history, fiction and mythology through a cinematic scope. Without spoiling it, the book as you are reading will have you visualizing his story in your mind.
