⭐️ (2/10) – Wings & Food | Marriott Buttes – Tempe, AZ

Let me start by making something VERY clear: Daniel was amazing.

Elite-level server. Seriously.

He was friendly, attentive, constantly checking on us, and genuinely seemed to care about everyone he was serving. There was a couple celebrating their anniversary, and Daniel was making sure the other servers knew about it so everyone could help make their night special.

That’s hospitality. Give that man his flowers. 💐

The resort itself? Beautiful. Great atmosphere, great service, and absolutely somewhere I’d stay again.

Unfortunately, eventually somebody brought us food.

And that’s where this review takes a dramatic turn. 😂

I ordered the wings, and the best way I can describe them is: I think these wings may have had a previous owner.

They tasted like leftovers. Maybe they were delicious yesterday. Maybe their first trip out of the kitchen was magical. I wasn’t there for that chapter of their lives.

By the time we met, the relationship was already over.

Then my wife ordered the cheesesteak.

Listen…I don’t know what happened to that meat before it reached our table, but it tasted like recycled tires had been lightly seasoned and placed on a roll. Somewhere in Tempe, a Michelin is missing.

The craziest part is that everything surrounding the food was excellent. Beautiful resort. Fantastic service. Great atmosphere. And Daniel was putting on an absolute clinic in hospitality.

Then the kitchen said, “We’ll take it from here.”

They should not have taken it from there. 😂

Food rating: 2/10.

And I’m being generous.

One point because apparently we’re not allowed to go lower. The second point belongs entirely to Daniel. Without him, we’re having a very different conversation.

I love the resort. I’d absolutely stay here again. The service was outstanding, and Daniel deserves some serious recognition.

But based on the food we had?

Next time I’m checking in with luggage and DoorDash. 😂

One thing we started implementing this year was mommy/daughter staycays. It’s been our special time together and it’s been so fantastic for our relationship.

And our stay at @thebuttesmarriott was wonderful.

Fall is right around the corner, take this as your sign to book the stay at. 🥰
