Another West Coast trip for the books. As always, it was a memorable time spent with great company, incredible food, and phenomenal hospitality. I’ve included some photos from past Sandcastle Weekends over the years as a tribute—this year was special, yet bittersweet.

I’ve been coming to Los Angeles nearly every year since 2013 for Sandcastle Weekend, and from the beginning, I’ve been welcomed with open arms by the entire Carlstroem family at what we all know as “The Big House.”

So many fond memories, countless stories, and some of the most genuine, caring people I’ve ever met have all come from that house. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and this year marked the final time staying there.

Thank you to the entire Carlstroem family for putting up with me over the past 12 years and for making me a part of something I’ve looked forward to every August.

Sandcastle will live on—just in a different way—and I’ll still be up for the challenge.

It’s not goodbye, It’s see you later. 🏖️
