We are excited to introduce our first Grand Connections business @thecarchap
Here is a little about this GCU student ran business from its owner Caleb:

Car Chap had its humble beginnings as a solution to a problem my mom faced during my senior year in high school. She asked me to tackle the issue of her lip balm melting in the scorching Californian weather, causing it to ooze out of the cap. This led to the creation of what we now know as Car Chap, a clever invention that suspends lip balm in an upright position. This way, even if it does melt, it resolidifies within the lip balm's original container, preserving its shape and functionality for future use.

During my senior year, I playfully listed the product on Etsy, using my childhood nickname as the shop's name. To my surprise, I managed to sell around $1,000 worth of Car Chap during that time. This endeavor served as a valuable side gig, teaching me important lessons in quality and customer service. As I embarked on my freshman year of college, I decided to close the Etsy shop, as the return on investment wasn't substantial.

In June, our revenue on Amazon reached around $10,000. I was convinced that it couldn't double again, but I was mistaken. In July, Car Chap exploded on TikTok, accumulating a staggering 5.75 million views from user-generated videos. This led to $26,000 in sales, and we quickly sold out on Amazon, struggling to fulfill all the orders.

I am incredibly grateful for the support of both God and the people around me, which has contributed to the astounding success of Car Chap. Looking ahead, we are partnering with GCU's engineering department to manufacture an injection mold and utilize their injection mold machine. We plan to handle packaging at Canyon Ventures and ship from there. Our goal is to establish a physical presence within brick-and-mortar stores in the next year.
