Maslow talked about what is now known as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs: the most basic needs humans need people have for existence, and I’ve been doing some reflection on how that applies to me. So come with me in this short reel and let’s take a look at 3 basic human needs.

P. S. As always, it would only let me tag a few people. I’m sorry for everyone it wouldn’t let me tag. 🫣

I was sorting through pictures from #ium10 and realized I have some I don’t think I ever posted of some of our new queens. I’m so very happy for all of them! Each one is a wonderful human being and I can’t wait to see the amazing things they’re going to do this year. 🩵

Another Friday closer to @internationalunitedmiss means it’s time for another IUMside Scoop, and this week it’s all about the Finale. But first, this one is dedicated to my @internationalunitedms @pageantry_with_kenzie bc it’s her birthday todayyyyyy!Happy birthday Kenz!!!!! I love you and I’m so proud of you and of how beautifully you’ve represented the IUM Ms. class of 2025. Can’t wait to see you in a couple of weeks!!!
At IUM, the Finales take place over two days. NUM takes place on Friday, with all 3 divisions taking place in one gigantic show of epicness. This year, NUM is sure to be THE show to watch. Not that I’m biased in the slightest due to being in the NUM Miss division or anything. 🤣 j/k. All the finales will be amazing, none of them are any less than any other, that’s one of the things that makes IUM so special. Anyways. NUM on Friday. Then on Saturday, the IUM Divisions will have their Finale shows but each division goes one at a time spread out through the day, youngest to oldest, Princess to Ms. side note: the fact that IUM divisions are solely based on age and not on marital status is another thing I love about IUM. As someone who was married, separated, divorced with children, and now remarried, it has been a relief to not have to try to figure out which division is most appropriate, and I love how wide the perspectives and experiences are that the older divisions get with that one fact alone. 🩵🩵🩵
Finale starts with Opening Number, led by the Division’s reigning Queen. Nothing about Finale is judged or has any impact on scores and the judges’ scoresheets have been turned in, tallied, finalized, etc., which makes it easier to relax and just have fun instead of worrying about whether your performance during the ON will be subconsciously taken into account. After ON, it’s on to Crowning, the BEST part of the night. I love the energy and love that everyone brings to this part of the show. Sheer joy for the winner backstage. And now I’m out of characters again so I’ll just say as always I can’t wait to be back with all these amazing people. 🩵 #sistersbysash #internationalunitedmiss #internationalunitedms #beethechange #iumsocials

It’s June 1 [eta: NARRATOR: it was not, in fact, June 1. It was May 31. Oops.] and that means @internationalunitedmiss and being back with some of my favorite people is officially happening NEXT MONTH!!!!!!! [eta: NARRATOR: it was also not, in fact, next month quite yet.] I have most of my wardrobe, I’m up to date/current on my deadlines, my plane ticket and hotel room are booked, I have enough hard sided suitcases… now I just need it to be July 8 so I can leave for the airport. lol

I was asked what I’m looking forward to the most and that’s REALLY hard to answer. The people, the time spent with my #sistersbysash, the extra dance rehearsals we’ll hold in random lobby spots for those of us who are… less coordinated-ly inclined than others… (I want to actually do justice to @katiesour gorgeous choreography this year!), and all the memories we’ll make together. But I’m also looking forward to Intro, Interview, and Spokesmodel and getting to tell everyone about my platform, #BEEtheChange. But even that comes down to people. So I guess the people is (are?) What I’m looking forward to the most.
The world’s biggest thank you to @thekrisann_evelyn & @the_hollysour for creating something so special and all the work and love y’all pour into IUM and all of us. 🩵🩵🩵 #internationalunitedmiss #ium #iumsocials

EDIT
[NARRATOR: Here we have an excellent specimen of the Estherus Dingbaticus, known for excelling at getting her dates, days of the week, and number of weeks left wrong… multiple weeks in a row. 👀
