❤️ 75,000 of you here and I couldn’t be prouder of this page!

I’ve always believed children’s books are so important.

They can challenge assumptions, help children feel seen, start conversations and open little minds to big ideas.

They can help us understand each other a little better, celebrate what makes us different and find the things that bring us together.

That’s what this page is all about.

Books with purpose, voices that deserve to be heard and books for fun!

The stories we share with children matter. And I’ll never stop championing them.

Thank you for being here!

How do I pick picture books? Honestly - I don't. He re-picks them. About 75–80% of our shelf is on repeat, and the repeats taught me my own criteria. Here are nine things we look for now - swipe to see some of our personal favorites.

The biggest one: I look for the mess-up - because I want him to know a bad choice isn't a bad kid. 🫟

What's the book your kid asks for 40 times?

Happy book birthday to 🎄THE LOST CHRISTMAS LETTER🎄publishing today with @puffinbooksuk

Dylan sends a last-minute wish to Santa but it doesn’t arrive in time. Santa’s already left! Yes you read that right.
Only the littlest elf Dora can help and bravely sets off to deliver the wish. But it’s easier said than done, there are SO many children and can she even find Dylan in time?
When this story went out on submission, not even the publishers could guess what the wish was, can you?

I loved creating this book with iconic publisher Puffin. Special thanks to @monicawhelandesign my brilliant and patient art director, Ellie and James my equally brilliant editor and agent @thecatchpoles

Special news! Mandy is Still a Banana has been translated and published in South Korea! 🇰🇷🍌🍌🍌🍌

Couldn’t be more proud of this introspective banana. It’s tough being a writer, even tougher to hold onto your voice, so when it travels it means the world.

@amyevansillustration’s brilliant illustrations look even better in Korean!

Thank you @hachettechildrens @thecatchpoles and @piagetbookstar_official for making this possible! 🙏🏻

What a night! 🤩. Absolutely brilliant to be at @theweekjunior book awards, where ‘The Forever Bear’ was up for ‘Picture Book of the Year’. The shortlist was fab, so we didn’t scoop the win, but it was such a wonderful event, celebrating the best of bookishness, so it genuinely didn’t matter!!! Met friends old and new, cheered loudly, laughed like a pirate and did a lot of hugging… best night!

Thank you to the judging panels at @theweekjunior for getting us this far!… and to my illustrating partner @pippa_curnick (one of the prime instigators of making me giggle), to everyone at @bloomsburychildrens & Lara for cheering us on, to Claire #holroydecartey & to my tremendous agent Mandy @storywiseagency for EVERYTHING. Lovely to see @tompercivalbooks @mariesadulak @catcawthorne @thecatchpoles @father_teacher_reader @mreprimary @davidtazzyman @michelleharrisonauthor @blancmange_ee @hannahgold_author @yuvalzommer , my darling @_serena_patel_ and so many more lovely faces (and apologies to those I’ve missed and especially to @jamiesmartdraws for the impromptu photo session!).

BOOK FEATURE!
What a wonderful story of innocence, strength, boundaries, and representation! This accessible, funny, and groundbreaking story addresses the questions children often ask, as well as a disabled child’s choice not to answer. You’ll find yourself rooting for all the tiny voices in this book! Each is sweet & innocent, albeit nosey and annoying to our main character, Joe! All learn the valuable lesson of grace, respect and honoring both our own and others boundaries.
