Remember Me - NYFA Thesis Film

I began writing this in the summer of 2025 after my grandmother eventually lost her 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s.
I watched as this terrifying illness affected not just her mind, but her body and soul, and even those around her. It was a terrifying thing to witness and I really just wanted to capture that fear, not only of forgetting but being forgotten.
I didn’t make this film to give any answers, because like life, there isn’t a solution. There isn’t one right way to handle this. It just is sometimes. And in moments like that, I think it’s really important to keep love in our hearts and make sure that those around us feel it. Love transcends memory. And I think that says something.
I’m so proud of this film. It has been so wonderful watching audiences connect so heavily to this film and open up that conversation for love and empathy. It’s a scary thing to mention but it is so damn important that we as a community have some form of outlet for these emotions that are just too big for words.
Damn, I love making movies.
Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single person that was involved in any way. Of course, my amazing actors, @thecathyfinlay and @tciorciari60, my top notch crew, my professors, and every single person who donated to the project before it even existed! And thank YOU for caring enough to read all of this and hopefully watch it.

Please take this time to remind those closest to you that they are loved.
