A little #ThankfulThursday for family owned businesses that help make scary, big decisions a lot less scary.

As someone that knows very little about jewelry and stones and carats, the idea of finding a ring for my liewe Marié was n bit daunting. I had an image in my head. But nothing I saw in the bigger commercial stores came close to what I wanted. It felt impersonal and as if I was shopping for a birthday gift rather than asking the woman of my dreams to marry me.

Enter my darling friend @roelinedaneel Her family owns @daneeldiamonds and she said I should have a chat with her brother about what I want and take it from there.

Julle... what a wonderful experience. I told @thechandie what I had in mind. Their designer sent me a 3D design a day later and lo and behold it looked exactly like the image in my head!

So when it came to our wedding rings I didn't even think twice about what to do or where to go. Again, the design for our rings are uniquely us and again @thechandie and @pieterdaneel treated us like family, printing 3D versions and sending it via courier so we can even test the fit!

I know the term "family" can be thrown around a lot but they really made us feel like that. And maybe it is because Roeline is my friend and she told her brothers to be super nice to me (possibly I don't know) but it felt so personal and special. I didn't feel like I was making a big decision in a mall, it felt like throwing ideas around with buddies over a cup of tea.
